So where is everybody staying and when?

Hi

We're leaving in 12 sleeps time  and spending the night at the Gatwick Hilton before flying out on Easter Sunday (27th March) for 21 nights at Pop Century.

My favourite park is MGM and my biggest tip (other than this site!) is to have some down time and just relax. You can't do everything and need an excuse to visit again!

Looks like I might be bumping into some of you in the parks!

Im going on 14th November (8 months today!) and staying at the All Star Movies for 16 nights. My favourite park is MGM and I also love floating round Blizzard Beach in a rubber ring! :goodvibes

Cool thread! Its good to see everyone's holiday plans!!

Our holiday plans keep changing. I got an amazing deal on 2 wks Animal Kingdom Lodge and a free weeks fly drive, plus a free kids place from Virgin last year. Even though my mum wants to come again and get a villa, we dont feel we can cancel such a bargain! I have tried to find cheap flights for October, without success. The flight only for mum to come is £700, plus a room at AKL, another £1000, so its pretty certain she will be taking a year off this year. If we could have got cheap flights, then I think we would have cancelled and done a villa again, as we prefer the space and freedom. As it is, we are going to try the hotel route for a change this year. So here are our plans....

We are leaving Oct 13th for 3 weeks, flying Virgin from Gatwick. We may stay at Le Meridien again overnight, as this worked well in December.

Our first two weeks are at Animal Kingdom Lodge. For our final week, we have been running several ideas around. At the moment, we are looking at the Polynesian or the Contemporary. DH is quite keen on the idea of the concierge floors (free food = happy husband!!) and as long as he is happy to pay for it, who am I to argue?? If we can get a decent AP rate, then it will probably be DHs fave of the two, the poly.

We leave in just over 2 weeks time!!! (31st march) Staying for two nights at the new Nick Hotel, then moving to a 7 bedroomed villa at Emerald Island resort, where we will be sharing with 2 other families (14 people in total!!!!!!!!!).

Not sure I have a 'top tip' that's not already been said!!

Fav theme park..............Wal*Mart....... ;)

We're going in July this year, which will be a first for us during the summer months, and we're all a bit unsure about how well we'll cope with the heat and humidity! It's the only time we could fit in a trip to suit everyone's timetable so we're determined to try it and see :)

We start off in Universal's Royal Pacific Resort for 3 nights (to get front-of-line access ;) ), then move down to a 2 bedroom condo in the Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa for 6 nights, finishing back up in Orlando with 5 nights in a 2 bedroom home in Saratoga Springs Resort :cool1:

Favourite park changes with every trip , but at the moment it's probably Epcot.

Best tip - purely for WDW, stay onsite and make good use of EMH (sorry, Deb! ;) ) and the WDW transport system.

Hi Mrs Dazzle
I hope you can help. Do you know if AKL and the Hilton @ Marco Island provide you with pool/beach towels?
Iam hoping they do so I can save some room in my case for other goodies.
Thank you

Hi Clare - you don't need to worry about beach towels at either AKL or Hilton :) Both have pool towels available in the pool area. At AKL you just go to the pool cabin and pick them up there - there are 'bins' provided for when you've finished with them.

At the Marco Hilton, there are two area to collect towels - one in the little hut next to the pool where they also have wacky noodles and inflatables available. But we always used to get a lilo or two from Publix(where they inflate them for you too if you ask). There are a couple of beach-type shops opposite the hotel where you can pick up all sorts of goodies for the pool/beach, but we found the supermarkets or WalMart tons cheaper. You can also get them from the hut on the beach - you just fill in your name/room number on a list. If these little huts close, they put a note up to say go collect your towels from reception, which again is no problem.
From this beach hut you can also get your pick of the two free sunloungers - I think we had to pay for a straw-type parasol, but it was very hot so worth it.

The pool is really great to swim in later in the evening, calm and underwater lighting - really atmospheric.

Ooh, bringing back memories of both places :sunny: :sunny:

The AKL pool is great too - the slide is really good fun and there is a zero entry level on one side. There are loads of loungers around it.

Also, loads of loungers around the Hilton's pool, some even had the little flag you pop up to get beach bar service :teeth:

Thank you so much Mrs Dazzle for all of your help.
I hope that everybody has a wonderful holiday
