So, where are YOU having your WDW Thanksgiving Dinner?

We'll be driving down to WDW on Thanksgiving day...and we don't have any idea where to stop along I-75 for a good meal. We were thinking perhaps, a Cracker Barrel? We will be somewhere in Kentucky, Tennessee, or Georgia...any good ideas would be much appreciated, especially as we aren't very familiar with this part of the country.

And if you have ideas on how we could make the meal special I'd enjoy hearing them. What if we end up at a truck stop?? Thanks for any suggestions...

Having breakfast(or more of a brunch) at Chef Mickey's at 11:30. My brother and his family are flying home that afternoon. We will then go to Cirque that evening. Will probably eat dinner DTD. Trying to avoind the parks that day since I'm sure it will be very crowded. Going to MGM the 29th to see Osbourne lights!

Ricola, we were practically neighbors a few months ago. We lived in Woodbury then moved to E. St. Paul, and we drove through Maplewood constantly. I frequented the Maplewood Mall. DH is a MN boy. We moved to TX and his sis and her dh moved to NYC. All of us, including his parents who live in Mpls, are meeting in WDW.

I already answered the question, but I will again - LTT.

Local Girl,
About 45minutes to an hour north of Chattanooga are a couple of Davy Crockett Roadhouses. Not sure if they will be open on Turkey Day. You can check online if they have a web-site and give a call or email. We have stopped there several times and enjoyed the meal. We prefer the original one which is a little farther south of the first one you will see advertised on billboards. They serve many barbecued meats. Many are served with a Jack Daniels sauce or marinade.

Thanks, Pam, I appreciate the info re: Davy Crockett Roadhouses. This is going to be a very strange Thanksgiving for us since we're used to the traditional family-around-the-table, huge turkey dinner. This year, we don't even know what state we'll be in when we stop to eat  !!

One Thanksgiving my DH and I were on our way home from Disney (just the 2 of us!) and our Thanksgiving dinner was a shrimp poboy at a casino in Biloxi, Mississippi! Not your traditional fare, but we were thankful for it and for all that God has blessed us with. It doesn't matter what you eat, it just matters that the thankfulness is in your heart. That's what the holiday is all about!

:D

Local Girl,
Regardless of where you are, Enjoy it! Another option is to celebrate Thanksgiving once you arrive! You can give Thanks any day of the year. I know, for myself, being in WDW makes me grateful that our family is able to spend vacation time together. Not everyone is as fortunate. I always count God's blessings because one never knows what tomorrow will bring.

...well said. We are definitely thankful for the chance to go to WDW and all the other blessings in our life! I'm sure we'll have a good dinner, wherever we end up! Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!
