So when do you take down your christmas tree?

We take it down the first weekend in January (after New Years)!

I'll have all the Christams decorations down by January 1st. They've been up since Thanksgiving, so it's fine.

Epiphany. Though last year I was pregnant and husband no longer lived at home, so I had him take it down before he went back to work out of state. Back to the tradition this year, unless he surprises me and puts things away early.

Us too! Epiphany is the official 12th day of Christmas. I just finished decorating today because as an Episcopalian, Christmas doesn't really start until 12midnight on December 24th - that's when we start carolling!!!

I'm guessing it will come down on Jan. 2nd. I usually do the the full weekend day after Jan 1st.

Epiphany here too, just a holdover from my upbringing. Though it might come down early this year because the kids picked out the biggest tree EVER (too tall for 10' ceilings and about 6' across) and it is taking up half my dining room!

Normally I wait until Jan 6th to take it down. I had been a SAHM until Feb of last year so I did while the kids were in school. This year since I am now working I will take it down New Years weekend. I just don't have the time once I go back to work (I am a lunch lady so I am off this coming week!)

My mother has been known to keep her tree up for more than a year. She has done this several times and will just take the ornaments off and then decorate for each holiday, i.e. die cut hearts, shamrocks. She even did this the year I graduated college and had die but graduation caps.

After we take the hearts off it for Valentines Day but before we put the Shamrocks on it for St Patty's Day.:goodvibes

I usually take it down my first day off after christmas. This year my roomate is going to visit her dad dec 26-jan 1st. Then im going to visit my mom jan 6-11. So i will probably take my stuff down while she is away and then she can finish up her stuff when im gone

Not before the Epiphany (January 6). Not particularly religious but seems a little odd to end the holiday season before the wisemen made it to the manger.

Not soon enough.....as always I am sick of Christmas before it even gets here. I would imagine it all comes down the 27th.

January 1, after the Rose Parade! Now, at my mom's house...well, let's just say that she bought this REALLY big artificial tree that is decorated to the nines and it hasn't been down since Christmas 2008...or 09...wait, maybe it was 07....

:headache: here's hoping my identity is a secret! Otherwise.....:scared1:!

Just curious....do those of you who take it down at, on, or around Christmas....have you had your tree up for a long time?

Probably the 26th. I don't have a lot of time off from work this season, so I have to do it when I can. We have had it up since the first weekend of December and I am ready to have my house back.

A few days after Christmas. It depends, If we host a New Years party, we keep it up for the party and usually take it down the next day.

I use to take it down NY Day - I would wake up and start!

Now we go back to NJ on the 27th. I take it down on the 26th, so it isn't up when we leave. We get a real tree. I think I put it up around the 11th. this year.

Probably Christmas nite! We hate clutter in this house and we are glad to take everything down.

We put our tree up on the first day of Advent (Nov 28) so by the time Dec 26th hits I am so ready for it to come down.
