So when do you take down your christmas tree?

On the last day of Christmas - Epiphany (jan. 6th) Since that's a weekday, probably the weekend after.

I will take mine down late the 25th or early morning the 26th. Christmas is over I never understood even as a child why you would keep the tree up and put the unwrapped presents under it. I am an admitted neat freak and minimalist though so the tree tends to be in my way. I like taking the tree down by myself in a nice quiet house so will do it while the family sleeps. If I take the tree down and wrap the breakables myself and they are broken the next year I can only blame myself.

I'll admit it --- sometimes my tree if up until Martin Luther King Day! I love my Christmas tree and wish I could leave it up all year.

I probably won't leave mine up quite that long, but I agree...if it was socially "ok" for me to leave my house decorated for Christmas year round, I totally would! LOL It just seems soooo much more beautiful with the Christmas decor. Once I take everything down it seems so bare! Every year I get annoyed putting back all of the "regular" house decor.

Yes. Epiphany, St. Stephen's Day, El Dia de Los Reyes Magos, the 12th Day of Christmas. The 'Holidays' last at least until then.

I used to keep mine up through Orthodox Christmas (whenever that happened to be), but since my grandfather died we don't celebrate Russian Christmas anymore....I kind of miss it...

I am terrible...I have been known to take it down on Christmas evening a time or two. But usually, it comes down the day after Christmas. I love Christmas time, but when it is over, it is over for me.

I hate taking our tree down. :( I love our tree, and love having it up as long as possible. DH would be happy if I took it down New Year's Day, but I usually leave it up until the 7th.

Probably will be the evening of January 2nd this year, so I can leave it up through New Years weekend. I like to keep it up all through the holidays.

Although we usually intend to take it down in early January, we are lazy when it comes to putting away stuff, so we often procrastinate. I have been known to take it down in mid-January before. :rolleyes1

Sometimes Christmas day, if not, then the day after Christmas.

I am always anxious to get my house back to normal.

This year, when I put the tree and Christmas stuff away (we have a fake tree) I will dig out the suitcases for our trip to Vegas in mid-January.

:thumbsup2

I love the tree/decorations also.
until I 1st learned of the" Epiphany" take down your stuff by then,, I used to leave my stuff up till feb 1st!
I spend all that time decorating ( stair garlands. doorway lights etc) i just hate to take it down earlier.

now If I had animals around our tree, I'd probably think differently.

:santa:

My Dh will take it down a couple of days after Christmas. It's been up since Thanksgiving weekend and we have a small house so it gets a bit crowded. Still, I feel like I haven't sat down long enough to really enjoy it. Everything looks so bare once everything is put away! If you left it up to me we'd have it up until spring. I guess one of us has to be the voice of reason. ;)

My latest is after Valentine's Day. I love having the tree up. :lovestruc
