So When Can We Book F&W Classic?

The Swan is more expensive but I'm really not sure why. We stayed in the Dolphin last year for the F&W Classic (never stayed at the Swan) and we thought the hotel was beautiful. The room was very nice and we had no complaints at all. It seemed like the Swan & Dolphin were both the same distance from the boat launch too so I'm not sure why the Swan is more expensive. I've heard from some people that the Swan is smaller and so it doesn't seem as much like a 'business' hotel as the Dolphin. I'm not really sure but I was wondering the exact same thing.

We just made our reservations for the Dolphin (2 nights). Tomorrow we'll do our BCV reservations. :cool1:

We also just booked the Dolphin! We stayed there last time and really enjoyed it and I'm still not sure why the Swan is more expensive. We opted for a Resort view this time instead of the lovely roof. :) I just made a note in our Dreams reservation to switch us to the F&W Classic rate once it's available. I also put down which seminars we'd like to attend because last year when I called the Dolphin to book it they ask you on the phone. I hope to do different ones this year!

That's great news! Thanks T :cool1:

So I have a question for all of you.
We've stayed at the Swan twice, but never at the Dolphin. Is there any reason to choose one over the other? Should we go to the Dolphin because we've never been there before? Or stick with the Swan? Does it matter? :confused3

We MUST get together!! We made our reservations for BCV for 10/4-5-6 and then at the Dolphin for 10/7 and 8.

We've stayed at both, I don't think it matters. The Dolphin (if I remember correctly) is closer to EPCOT so if you wanted to walk, there's a slight difference. They're both close to Jellyrolls!!!:rotfl:

Absolutely!! I think we've decided on the Dolphin (over the Swan) for the Friday and Saturday nights. But we really should do something together- Jellyrolls would be great- we've never been!

We've got our plans booked. Have BCV for 10/1-7 and then Dolphin for 10/7-10. Going to switch the Dolphin to a F&W package when they become available. :cool1:

Sounds like we'll have a nice group over there!

Anyone else up for Jellyrolls Friday or Saturday after the Food & Wine Classic? :dance3:
(I'm leaning toward Friday...)

Since we've not been to the Classic at Swan/Dolphin I'm wondering why you're switching hotels? Can't you go to the classic if you're staying at BCV?

We're switching for a couple of reasons
  1. Conserving DVC points for the extra days
  2. planning on switching to a F&W package at the Swan/Dolphin for their special event that weekend once available.
In addition, the rate at the Swolphin was pretty good.

Was last years special package for 1 night or 2 nights? I know! Where's my brain....but, I can't remember. :goodvibes

Just booked a four night stay for the Festival weekend.

Aside from a note on my reseration about adding the Festival when it becomes available, is there anythiong else I should do?

TIA

Hey all!!!! If you have booked with Dreams for The classic, I am keeping your reservation ready to change when the info becomes available. I spoke to my contact this morning and was told that they are working on the packages now and we should get the details within 2 weeks. I read this to say that by the end of March we should be all set. I will email you with the info the minute I receive it. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Have a great week end,

T.:)

Thanks T! Hope they come out with a good rate!!

Forgot to ask, if I'm a Starwood rewards member, how do I enter that on my reservation? (Not that I'm a member now, but I expect to be by the time F&W comes around - at their Gold level.)
