So... what's the latest on upgrading UT tickets?

We have always bought our tickets from UT, but this year we find ourselves in the unusual situation of possibly wanting to upgrade our park hoppers to DVC APs. (Our son will be attending UF, so I'm expecting we sneak in an extra visit!)

There was a lot of concern about not being able to upgrade UT tickets any more. Any recent experiences? Did anyone have a problem upgrading their UT tickets? I still haven't decided what to do. I was planning to get a 5 or 6 day park hopper for now, and then possibly upgrade at the parks - even if there is no more bridging. But am I taking a risk if I do this?

I know it isn't too recent, but last August I upgraded UT tickets to a DVC AP. The only problem I had was finding someone who knew how to do the price bridging.

There is a long post about this topic, with the most recent response in it being from today:

Spoiler alert: there has been no change; it appears that a respected Disney-related website took 1 report from 1 person and posted an article saying that UT tickets could not longer be upgraded without verifying the report. Much confusion resulted after many people tried to call Disney for clarification. However, many, many people have been able to upgrade since that erroneous report that it was no longer allowed.

We upgraded UT tickets to APs two weeks ago and everything was handled correctly. We used the tickets once, they bridged the price, and we paid the difference.

Someone posted a rumor as fact and a bunch of people lost their minds and over-reacted.

You can upgrade UT tickets.

Thank you, everyone! The replies are very helpful. I am relieved to hear that upgrades are still working.

Can someone explain to me how to calculate the bridged price? I hope i am saying it correctly. I purchase thru UT before the price increase and will be used for the first time in Nov. I would like to upgrade them to AP.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you have a plastic ticket, enter a park once. That will bring your lower priced ticket from UT up to today's Disney price for that ticket. Then go to a guest service location and upgrade to the AP. The cost differential should be the price of the AP, $675.21 and the now increased price of your UT ticket.

Here are the current prices of all WDW tickets. Look yours up, subtract from the $675.21 and that should be your cost.

Bolded step is important.
