So what's on the menu for Thanksgiving? Looking for something new or different to add to the menu.

We are doing italian this year.

Real Alfredo made with everything bad for you (stinky cheese, cream and butter)- half with mushrooms, half with chicken
Super thin crust pizza, sun dried tomato pesto and pepperoni
Meatballs
Massive spinach salad with carrots and Olive Garden dressing (love that stuff)
Fruit salad
Garlic bread (hubby makes bread)

Great thread! I too am looking for something a bit "different" this year. We're having friends over this year- 5 adults, my 10yo and their13 month baby. She and I will split cooking duties :)

So far what we've com up with is:
Apps:
Cranberry jalapeno cream cheese dip with crackers
Relish tray
Veggie tray with dip
Pumpkin bread

Main Meal:
Turkey (I'll be trying this recipe http://www.today.com/food/how-cook-juicy-turkey-try-it-curtis-stones-cajun-roasted-t53436 )
Honey baked ham (Friend is bringing)
Fresh green bean casserole (friend)
Stuffing, I may do traditional or make a cornbread dressing
Rosemary Roasted carrots
Mashed potatoes
Gravy
White cheddar mac and cheese (at request of the kiddo)
Sweet potato casserole (kiddo request again!)
Cranberry sauce

Dessert:
Praline Pumpkin pie
Apple snicker pie

I guess we need to divvy up who will make what :stir:

So what's on your Thanksgiving menu. I will be cooking for only 6 adults, and my almost 10 month old grandson by then. So I was thinking of doing something's different for Thanksgiving this year maybe a few twist's on traditional or a side dish or two, and something different to add to my appetizers to change up the menu. Everyone will be here all day and into the evening and in & out shopping sooo.

Here's my menu so far.

Sit out appetizers, munchies ( these I will put out at different times all day)
Shrimp platter
Cheese and Crackers
Veggies and dip
Really needing some more suggestions

Main Meal - *** needs some serious suggestions
Ham
Turkey ( 1 full breast, thighs)
Veggie potpie - This is so easy and looks pretty on the table, can make ahead except for crust.
Fresh Green beans with bacon, onions
homemade mashed potatoes, with turkey gravy.
Deviled eggs
*** Stuffing or dressing ( which depends on were you are from in the country), really need help here
*** Salad of some sort
*** Some sort of squash dish, I was think about acorn squash or something like this that my DH can cook on the grill. ( never have tried acorn squash on the grill anyone any experience with this?) He want to grill something..
*** Another side dish

Desserts
Lemon pound cake
Pumpkin pie
Apple pie - or something close to apple pie, maybe a tart or something
*** Looking for something different.

I know this looks like a lot for just 6 people, but I cook so that there are some leftovers, not a lot. And I send stuff home.

What if you moved your deviled eggs to appetizers. Maybe change them up a bit so they look like pumpkins like these, http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/red-pepper-deviled-eggs

I may try this too, pumpkin hummus, http://allrecipes.com/recipe/230466/savory-pumpkin-hummus/

I judt pulled this thread back up sine I got several good ideas and recipe from it last year. If anyone has anything new to add I would love to hear it!

I make a crab dip for around lunchtime (we eat dinner around 3 or 4) and this year I'm making a quinoa salad with almonds, dried cherries and either feta or goat cheese to have with dinner.
