So what things we can only do at MNSSHP?

Definitely the parade and Hallowishes. The party is a must for me because of those two things. I also love the trick or treating and the short lines for the rides. I can't imagine going at Halloween and missing it, in fact I have tickets to go three times for my solo October trip - once a week yay!

I am so excited!! We will be at our very first party on Tuesday. My question is what if we show up at 6:00 or 6:30...are we going to wait in a long line to get in? I know we can get in by 4 but that means convincing DH to hurry up and that may not happen. So if we show up not so early is that still okay?
I don't even have a costume for the kids yet...I think they are excited but don't really understand how awesome it is going to be. Would you say the majority of kids dress up? If it is going to be a battle with my kids to wear a costume I think I will pass even though I know they would love it.

Thanks for your help.

The parade is awesome, the fireworks are fantastic. The castle shows in the past are great as well. As other posters have mentioned, there is just this feeling in the air at MNSSHP that is amazing. The rides are walk ons, the castmembers are even more joyful than usual, fellow guests are dressed up and in a bubbly mood, Main Street is lit up, the Ghost Host makes announcements throughout the night, the candy is being thrown at you.

For those that say they go to Disney to feel like a kid again, MNSSHP is a great example of this. The people who attend this event are typically uber Disney enthusiasts already, and the mood is palpable.

I want to add that I would not say the same of MVMCP. It's like MNSSHP is our secret, Disney fandom meeting. If you love WDW, go!

Only two days left until your trip!! Oh my goodness. Have a magical time!! pixiedust:

Couple questions: Can the adults get the candy too or is it just for kids? Do you have to be dressed up? and do they give you a bag to put the candy in?

In my experience, yes - most of the kids are either in costume or in Halloween-esque tshirts. Dressing up to go to the parties is SO much fun - you get comments from other attendees, from CMs, and really fun pictures, etc.

My 9 yo, who is not much into dressing up, picks costumes that are really just regular clothes with a tweak - so he was Dipper Pines, for instance, which required him to wear...shorts and a shirt and a vest and a baseball hat. Stuff like that is great for kids who are not into costumes. You can also pinterest some costume tshirts you could make - comfy, but cute and fun for a Halloween party. Have fun! It's a great time! And if they really don't want to do costumes, you will all still have a great time!
