So what is the general consensus on Wishes FP+?

I was thinking of using one of our FP+ for Wishes viewing on the first night we arrive. We arrive late in the afternoon, so we'll probably just head to the parks to view the fireworks. If I'm not worried about "wasting" a fast pass, is it better to view the fireworks from this area? I keep reading that its not worth a FP but I will have FPs to spare since I bought a park ticket for our first night.

The term "better" is so subjective, which is why it is hard to get an accurate consensus.

If you will be in MK anyway and all you want to do is stand on main Street, enjoy some ice cream and hang out then no you don't need one at all. But, lets say you wanted to eat dinner to Whispering Canyon after you arrived then just stroll into MK 10 minutes before Wishes starts, then yes....it is very valuable.

It doesn't offer the best view, but it is still a good view. If you do not have someting reserved you either need to be there early to grab a spot or be willing to wander around until you find something that suits your group without putting too many other people out.

So the answer is, it can be very useful but it also can be a gigantic waste and do nothing but save a spot for you with inferior viewing than what you can get on your own. All depends on you.

My advice is to not to listen what anyone else says, construct your perfect evening then use the FP+ that help you the most...not the ones that others agree are the best.

Totally agreed, but I'll give you my perspective.

We're not fireworks people. If I happen to see them, great. If not, no biggie. Last time I was there, it was late in the day on arrival day and it was just my mom and I, so I thought, why not try it out?

We did the Wishes FP+ in the Rose Garden. It was ok. Great view of everything. Tink goes right over your head. The castle lights are right in front of you. I wouldn't do it again probably. Once was enough. But then again, I would never wait to see fireworks at Disney. Some people enjoy that. If you're one of those people, I think the Rose Garden FP+ area is great for that!! Unless the grass is wet like it was when we went. ;)

I honestly enjoyed the Wishes FP+. It was a lot better than having to stand in front of the castle for an hour or getting a bad spot at the last minute. It's also in a good spot to see Celebrate the Magic. If you're going at a busy time I would recommend it, otherwise it might be easier to snag a spot at the last minute.

My family did the Wishes FP+ (Rose Garden) in Feb and loved it! We did not have to fight for space and Tink does fly right over your head! My DD9 is a big fan so that played a big part! We are lucky enough to go to WDW once a year as of late and dislike very much how impatient and rude people have become when it comes to the parades and fireworks. This allowed for a very relaxing experience. FYI, we still had to arrive fairly early to make it thru the crowds!

This is a great idea. Since we are not ride people (rollercoasters, etc.), we didn't know what to use our Fastpasses on. We are going in December. What time of night is this? I'm sure the times were different in February. Would you be able to stay in that spot to see the electrical parade? Thanks again.

BTW, how far out can you book the fastpasses?

Good question- when can you book the FP?

Also, is it normal for people to actually sit during the fireworks if they have an FP? We have a 2yo and I just hate the crazy crowds where you have to hold a 30pd kid on your shoulders for them to see over people's butts.

This would be make or break for us. If it's not packed tight and you can sit it would make all the difference in getting the FP

I haven't done it since October, but it wasn't crowded at all, and everyone was sitting. That was when only resort guests could book FP+, so things might have changed. It was so nice. Reminded me of watching Independence Day fireworks when I was a kid. But I didn't bring a blanket.

When we did this in early Feb, it was not crowded at all! We were able to sit and relax on the lawn until the show started. At that point we had to stand because there were guest located on the walkway in front of us (Not part of the fast pass viewing area. FP area is roped off an not accessible unless you have a FP). We were still able to avoid the elbowing and close space associated with regular attendance. For us, that was great!! Not sure how crowded it is now. Our trip in Feb was early in new FP roll out.

I'm considering doing FP+ for wishes one night only because we have an ADR at Cindy's Royal Table at 8:30, that night Wishes will be at 10:00. I originally thought once dinner is done we'd be allowed to be directly under the fireworks, but now I'm worried timing won't work out like that?
Kinda freaking out, I am a fireworks person and really want to see them. I'm also worried we won't be allowed to get out of the castle cause of the electric light parade so we may not even make it to the FP viewing area.
Suggestions???
