So what is the funniest DVC post you've read?

OK, my curiosity is peaked...can anyone direct me to a speedo bob post?

I think they were all deleted.

So does this mean Richyams wears Speedos?!? And should I be afraid to ask who is Bob?!?

Delswife's trip report on the Trip Board. I've only read 16 of the 33 (I think) pages. Can't wait to read the remaining pages.

I can't remember where this thread was, but it was hysterical. There were some really serious posts about how far DVCers go in cleaning and taking care of the units since there is not really maid service, including making beds daily, vacuuming up, etc.,... but then the thread got REALLY ridiculous, although I don't think some people knew where the joke began and ended!

It concerned members being so clean and neat about DVC property. Something along the line of: Who needs maids...when there are so many DVCers who are more than thrilled to clean their unit all day, including such priority tasks as waxing the floor and sanding the furniture.
(guess you had to read the thread but I was rolling on my unsanded/unwaxed floor):rotfl:

Well, I haven't been around the DVC board for long, but I have to say that Richyams' humorous posts have been the funniest so far; particularly since I'm a fan of dry, sarcastic wit - the more subtle, the better.

So, Richyams, these additional mentions are for you:

Richyams
Richyams
Richyams
Richyams

Enjoy!

The one that I actually laughed out loud at:

Someone posted asking about how scary the clown slide at BWV was because they have a fear of clowns. Someone supplied a link to a picture of the slide, so I clicked on it expecting to see the actual slide which I thought would comfort the original poster as the clown is not scary at all. The person had manipulated the photo of the clown so it looked like an evil devil clown with flames for hair and sharp jagged teeth. I laughed and laughed. I would supply a link to that photo if I could.

I was also going to post about the corn people.

over on the resort board, discussion about discounts in april, the op responce:

Thank you so much. You are all suck a big help

you gotta lol

:love1: :love2:

:jumping1:

Rich's are always good, particularly when he succeeds in riling someone up and they vent away.

Someone, I can't remember who, was complaining about his view @ BWV, posting something like "Preferred should not mean a view of the Swan and a ditch full of water".

I still laugh at that one.

Well, I've not read the can of corn thread and somehow missed Maistre Gracey's BCV fairy ring thread but my favorite so far was Richyams about the good points of BWV. How about sitting on your balcony and being able to reach into the refrig. for a libation?

keenercam your story about two 60's wandering off the bus and asking if that was their hotel has tears in my eyes!:hyper: I can just picture it so easily!

BCV23 -- You haven't even heard the best of it!!! Youk know how outside the astro orbiter there is on the ground (before you even get in the line) a mock orbiter that little kids can sit in to get their pix taken, etc? I was trying to tell my very ill DM that I thought she would have problems getting in and out of the ride (her equilibrium is very bad) and I was afraid she might be ill after riding the ride. So, she gets in that mock ride seat and sits there and says "that's it? you thought I'd have a problem with this? what do you think I am? Is this all it does? Geez, you'd expect more at Disneyworld"
And she was not kidding, either.
You can imagine what my week was like.

Oh, please...tell more!!

ROFL! That is hilarious! Gotta love the trips with extended family.

I also loved the corn thread, it was a riot.
Another thread that I found very amusing was a thread on the Theme Parks board a couple years ago about people using beach towels to save parade viewing spots on Main Street for SpectroMagic. People were putting these towels down hours in advance thinking this was a perfectly acceptable way of "saving" their spot for the parade while they went off to the enjoy the park for hours before the parade started and they came back to claim their "reserved" spot!
A thread that I always find amusing is reading some of the very vocal, heated and annoyed responses regarding exceeding the room occupancy limits, particularly if this grave sin occurs at a DVC resort!
Or reading some of the very interesting comments on the DVC board regarding non DVC WDW resorts especially the value and moderate resorts. Unbelievable!
And of course any of the smoking threads is likely to bring forth some really unbelievable points of view and comments from waaaaaaaay out there.
One really amusing thread that was just on the Debate Board was regarding smoking pot at Epcot. Very, very interesting posts on this thread including some from well known DVC board regulars!
Don't even get me started on how funny some of the posts to threads about politics, religion, homosexuals, home schooling, etc are. You read these posts and can do nothing but just shake your head and wonder where some people are coming from.
If you really want to read some very amusing threads head over to the Debate board. The satire humor on the DVC board is small potatoes compared to some of the great posts on the Debate board.
Gotta love the DIS, it does provide a lot of amusement and wonderful Disney info!!!

Oh, this is so fun. I remember the can of corn. I remember so many. I think the one that I loved the most was on the resort board about a year ago, maybe two, where the discussion got going about the cost of a preferred view at the Poly during Christmas. The poster had called to get pricing information and was shocked at the price of the room per night--something like $500 or so. Someone comes on and just kind of nonchalantly mentions that if they were going to have to pay that much, their view had better be of naked breasts pressing up against the window. :earseek: I was crying so hard while reading that thread! It really took an interesting turn from there! heehee~

Of all the posts I've read, Sogger1's tale of the trained squirrel at WDW was the most memorable to me. It was around the time I joined the DIS and believe me after reading the responses I thought maybe the DIS was not the place to get the most accurate WDW info.

glad I stuck around though...

I never saw the original post about the corn, but I told my hubby last night about I read some family was eating out of a can of corn on mainstreet and he said that was very, very sad that all they could afford was a can of corn to share and eat. He was serious, too. I replied they had to have enough money to get into the MK, HELLO and he said ya, they had to eat corn for months to take their kids there!

I think it was on the restaurants board....

The original poster wanted to ask if restaurants should 86 customers who are rude or noisy but they used the wrong term and asked if restaurants should 69 rude or noisy customers!!!

The mistake generated some very interesting and hilarious replies!!!!!

I've caught up on the thread during the past 24 hours, and have been greatly amused by many stories, but this was the first to make me actually laugh out loud. I could just imagine that thread...

On a side note, after reading more of the famous (or infamous) Rich, I'm really hoping I get to meet the legend himself during our stay at OKW next month. I'll be wearing my lime green DIS button...
