I mentioned before I am inviting 21, but surely not all 21 will come (its 21 including us).
So when I call Disney and say I am inviting 21 but I don't think all 21 will come, what will they do? Put me down as an escape wedding or wishes?

And the officiant counts as one towards the 20 min for WP?

and on a side note, for 20 people do I send out STDs? there are people we talk to all the time. And what about invitations?

If you use one of the recommended officiants it shouldn't count towards your guest total.

The number of people you have doesn't determine whether your wedding is a Wishes or an Escape ... you choose which package you want. :) We are having 16 or 17 guests plus dh and me for our VR next year, and we are doing a Wishes package because we want to choose our own elements, have the reception, etc.

yes but the min for escape is 20, if we were to exceed 20 then we would have to meet the min price for the wishes package.

If 21 come, it has to be a wishes wedding. If you don't think 21 will come, and you think 18 will, then you can plan for an escape wedding. You might need to do an "unofficial" RSVP to get an idea of who can make it to decide :)

I know from experience that if you tell DFTW that you may have 21 guests...they will make you have a wishes wedding.

If you sign for an Escape wedding and then have over 20 adults come, but less than 25, they will charge your credit card an additional $500.00 the day of the wedding. (This is according to the LOA. Once you hit 25 the LOA states that they reserve the right to cancel your wedding)

HTH.

My LOA says nothing about being able to go up to 25 people. This was signed in September.

I believe they took away the option to add an extra 5 guests earlier this year.

I'm sorry; I misunderstood what you were asking. I didn't realize you were trying to avoid having a Wishes wedding. :flower3:

If you really want to do an Escape, as others have said, there's no way around the 20-person thing. Depending on what type of Escape wedding you were hoping to have, you might find that a Wishes wedding wouldn't be that much more, especially if you're planning any kind of reception.

Just a reminder that the 20 people for an Escape wedding includes the Bride, Groom, and wedding party. So, if you think you may have 20 - 21 guests, make sure that count includes yourself and the groom (you really may have 22 - 23).

You can always upgrade from an Escape to a Wishes but you cannot downgrade from Wishes to Escape. Wishes you can book earlier.

We are having a escape wedding but are holding a catered reception after the wedding at a house my parents are renting. So the ones who are not able to attend the wedding will meet us there. We are also having it at SBP so the ones who cannot attend are able to view from the boardwalk.
