So, What happened Friday?!!

I missed my 11 month window to reserve at BWV for three nights during the Food & Wine Fest. I kept calling back and was told that the resort was sold out. Not surprised, really. We REALLY wanted to go as last year we had to cancel a trip when I broke my leg. So, while waiting for the 7 month window at BCV, I put us on the waitlist for BWV. Actually I was on 4 waitlists - studio standard, Studio preferred, I BDRM standard and 1 BDRM preferred. Told them not even to call me , just book it.

Last Thursday was the 7 month window for the first night so I started ressies one day at a time - figured BCV would be difficult, too, as not much had sold into inventory yet. Friday I had to work out of town and didn't get back until MS was closed. So, I called this morning to finish the nights, nervous that BCV had filled while my back was turned. As we start the process the CM told me I also had a ressie at BWV for a studio. She checked again and I also had a ressie for 1 BDR!! I now was the proud owner of THREE reservations for the same three November nights. We got it all striaghtened out, of course. Cancelled the one night at BC and the 1 BDRM at BWV and kept the BWV studio.

But what I can't figure out is how multiple rooms became available in one day when constant checking for three months showed nothing but "Sold Out". Go figure!!

Sure hope somebody else snagged that other room.

I think there is a simple solution to this. While you were waiting to book at Boardwalk Villas at the 7 month window, there were probably BWV members who had already booked at the 11 month window and were waiting for the 7 month window to book at another DVC resort just like you.

I did this last summer. In July of 2000 I reserved a 2 bedroom villa at BWV for June of 2001. At the 7 month window in Nov. of 2000 I called MS to get a 2 bedroom at Hilton Head. It was available, so I took it and canceled the 2 bedroom for the same dates at BWV. I'm sure I made some DVC'r happy as they got a 2 bedroom at BWV in the summer at the 7 month window.

I was one of those people with BWV ressies who cancelled them to pick up the BCV. That was just the other day.
