I work for a major corporation that owns ALFs and NHs. I am an internal compliance officer and cover the east coast. I visit the respective communities and measure their performance and compliance with the laws and regulations that are in effect in their particular state.

Mostly, I advocate for the rights of the elderly with particular attention paid to the LGBT aging population. "Out Age" and all that.

After all, aging is what we all do best. (Even Wally without his pants)!

ALF and NH are Assisted Living Facility and Nursing Home. I work with ALFs but consult on NHs. The object is to keep people OUT of NHs.

It is a dream job, and I love doing it, even though some days I want to strangle my employees that don't understand SEC and FINRA regulations. And these people hold securities licenses!

My partner is a financial analyst for MD Anderson Cancer Center. He spends his days making sure the departments stay in budget when it comes to buying technology equipment.
