I think what alot of people don't understand is that this is a business and is run like a business, TOS even before the modifications stated what could and could not be posted both here and on other sites. If the TOS is violated the PTB have every right to prevent those who violate from posting. Yes, I know some people who are no longer here - both voluntarliy and involuntarily, and at first I was really annoyed - citing all the same issues you all posted here freedom of speech, etc. But when I actually went back and read the TOS I realized that the people I knew violated that and brought themselves their own fate.

I know that this view will not make you all fuzzy, so I will but on my flame suit now.

You don't have to put on a flame suit, just go to another board. We are here to cry in our beers and commiserate about people we like who have been booted off the board.

Not to argue what was right (it wasn't) who was right (anyone?) and certainly not discuss the "otherside" since, unless you read minds, is not apparent to anyone because the "lawyers" are telling the ptb not to talk about it.

If you want to discuss rationality behind what they did, just please, go to another board. I don't really give a rats red roasted butt what the rationale is, until I have it from the "mouses's mouth" I am going to continue to be REAl po'd about the whole thing. You want to continue being all nicey friendly with the ptb, go ahead, do your own thing. Just please respect the fact that we aren't looking to fight or go into stiches with you people, we are just asking that you LET US BE! Is that really so hard, after all, you people now have pretty much the whole board to yourselves so go play in another yard, I am sad, tired and sick of it all.

Out of curiosity, how is going to WDW a violation of the TOS in your opinion? Because one of the banned was not only not present during "ban fest 2008", but was actually at WDW. Seems pretty counter productive for a trip to disney to be a bannable violation at a Disney planning website.

I did the same thing...and the people I know that got banned did NOTHING to violate the TOS. All they did was post on another website, PM about the bannings, or go to WDW for a week....I didn't see any of those things in the TOS. Perhaps you could enlighten me as to where those "sins" are listed.

So his bannable offense was posting at another board. That was not in the TOS.
Not sure why the "Been to the other board, thanks..but no thanks..not my cup of tea" is part of your response to my quote. I made no mention of the other board - just that someone was banned while at WDW.

I'm all for free markets, but it's also good business to listen to your customers. No offense to "the powers", but I'm not here to talk with them. I'm here to talk with the rank and file. The ones whose numbers are dwindling. When I'm not happy with a business, I expect to be allowed to air my grievances respectfully without being shown the door. This reminds me of a Direct TV commercial in which one of "the powers" in a cable company said "our customers are bad...they complain a lot...what we need is new customers".

I said on one of these threads that I'm well aware that this is a privately owned board and Pete can do as he pleases-but that doesn't make the whole scene any less unfair and it doesn't make me miss my friends any less.

In a fair world, the rules are clearly outlined from the beginning or notice is given when rules are changed BEFORE people are kicked to the curb. Do you even know what message they get? They get a PM that they are banned, with NO REASON GIVEN. Date ban will be lifted: NEVER.

I've recommended this site and Dreams Unlimited and I just became a sponsor recently. I listened to the podcast and I really was a fan. This whole episode has put a VERY bad taste in my mouth.

That other person wasn't on the other board either at the time he got banned. As stated, he was at WDW.
