I really adore so many of you here..Even many of you on the other side of the aisle or across the religious divide.. This place was where I came to evey signgle day when I was afraid my husband was going to die.Many of you on thisboard got totgether and prayed all at the same time when he hadn't woken up for days..He woke up soon after..The power of the Dis? maybe. I've been through a lot while posting around here. I loved this place, no actually my ties are too the posters otherwise there reallty are just words on a screen. Myfriends, many of them are gone. Sometimes you just have to stand up for what's right..I'f I'm no longer around it's not personal..You know where my blog is

I have met alot of people from through these boards. I have made many friends. The folks here have cried with me and laughed with me. I have lost many of those people this week for no reason that anyone can see. They don't know why they were booted. I can't imagine what the powers that be on this board think they are going to accomplish by doing all this. At least tell people what they have done! I'm sad and I'm angry.

I'm still here and I love ya!

I have lost some very good friends this week too. I am trying to hold my judgement until I hear the entire story. It's hard to do though the longer it takes to get information the harder it is to stay neutral and open minded.

I'm glad this thread is still here and hasn't gone poofy. I didn't know you could become friends with people on a screen until this website.

I'm just feeling very sad.

I didn't know that either Vicky. In fact I would have thought anyone who told me that more than a few years ago was a total fruitcake! But I have actually made friends with a lot of people here.

As for choosing. I refuse to do so. I am going to post wherever the heck I want and if that gets me banned, oh well. Some internet bulletine board is NOT going to make my choices for me even if there are friends I'll miss from around here. That is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard of.

I am so totally NOT sad. I am disgusted and appalled that anyone would think this makes any sense at all. Stupid and highhanded.

I think that's the major problem I'm having with this. The people that I know personally that were banned weren't given a reason for their banning. At least tell them why. At least respond to the emails asking why. Or at least post on the board a better explanation of what happened - without being vague about it. I'm both sad and frustrated.

Do you think at this point there is a way to explain what they have chosen to do? This many forced to leave at one time is unprofessional. The DIS wasn't taken over my a bunch of terrorist.

Well this is the most attention I've paid to a thread in quite some time. I would like to thank everyone here for having the courage to express what so many of us are feeling. I hope we are heard.

It is. I'm wondering if there's something particularly good on TV tonight or maybe they're letting it go awhile before shutting it down to let us get it out of our system a bit. Either that or it's the ominous sorta silence before more people disappear.

I'm not sure what the point is of continuing the bannings and, Froggyswife, you do realize we will never hear the other side of the story, right? This has all happened on the DIS before but to a lesser degree and the story is always the same. Sweep it under the rug until people don't question it and don't care anymore. It makes me angry and sad I wish this website were run by better people who actually gave a damn about the posters.


If I don't check back in, you know I've been banned for questioning and daring to criticize the Powers that Be. Hope not, but the way things have been going.....

Frankly, that about sums it up IMO. Straight and to the point.

I've been here a while as anyone can see and this is just bizarre. I never would have in a million years expected anything this far-ranging at the DIS. I don't understand what this is all about but I guess that I never will.

You know, I've been on the DIS since 2000 and have seen people come and go and come back (and go again). I have seen RL people die here too. I have prayed for and tried to comfort people who post here when they have lost RL loved ones and even internet friends.

It all gets very emotional.

When another board started, I was invited from day one and I have read that board for years. Ups and downs on both boards interacting with one another, intertwined with one another. Sometimes it was all so ugly that you wanted a shower, to puke or just erase one or the other from your favs.

All of this just proves to me that no matter what anyone has ever tried to argue the one plain, true fact remains. There are REAL people, with real feelings behind each internet screenname.

There is a lot of pain here this week. I feel badly for people but through the years I have also felt badly when I watched and read someone get ripped to shreds too. Don't you know form this week's experience that there has been a lot of pain between these boards all these years? Honestly, if either was a physical place, we'd have ended up like of those horrible school shootings!
Anger, hurt, misunderstanding... among the laughter, the kind words and the love.

It is a crazy place, the Internet.

I have friends at both places. I have friends who probably hate me on the other board who I love to read on here and have for a long time now. I'd help that person if they needed it, I really would. And I'm betting some people would surprise me with a helping hand also.

I just think it is times like these that should make us take a look at who we are, what we say, and try to see other people in a new or different light. In crisis we tend to pull together. It is very clear we do that. So, these boards are in a crisis. And what are the boards? They are people.

May I ask what you mean? I'm not very good with reading code. I do want to say that all of this truly is disconcerting.

Add me to the list of those who are sad to see so many familiar "faces" gone. Although I've never developed the close ties with individual posters that others have, there are many members who I recognize and respect (or at least just get a kick out of). Some, unfortunately, are on those lists that pop up and then disappear. The loss of those folks is felt by many here, even if they didn't know us by name.
