Well, I agree with everyone (except Need-a-fix ) I'm here and I'm not posting either for fear of reprisal. It's not very fun to be holding your breath when you log in to see if you've been banned or not.

I'm not sure what the point is of continuing the bannings and, Froggyswife, you do realize we will never hear the other side of the story, right? This has all happened on the DIS before but to a lesser degree and the story is always the same. Sweep it under the rug until people don't question it and don't care anymore. It makes me angry and sad I wish this website were run by better people who actually gave a damn about the posters.

I agree, and it's not fun to worry when someone you read for a long time is not posting any more. You worry: are they hurt, banned, or you hope on vacation.

That wasn't the MyCoupons great breakup, was it? I still miss people from over there. That was horrible watching people who had been online at least really close and friendly turning on each other. I really hope it doesn't get that bad here.

Like I said in my initial post, I am taking a break from the CB, but since you asked ... yes, it was Mycoupons and the "clover" war. IIRC, the site turned into a subscription site and by paying for a subscription/fee members would get a clover indicated with their username. Yes, it turned for the worse and had made enemies out of good friends.

I think some people even accused me of doing and saying some nasty stuff. It was horrible.

Its all good, Splash. I am also reeling from the loss of many friends here and I am willing to accept it and move on with DIS.

Unlike you, I think the OP is torn like many of us. I am not on this thread to bicker. I just miss my DISfriends whom are not here any longer.

What I mean is that you have made your point very clear. You're fine with the DIS and are happy to let whatever happens, happen.

I wasn't posting in "code" because I'm pretty sure your opinion is much different than the rest of us posting today/tonight for you.

IMO, the rest of us don't quite feel the same way. Please don't get upset with us for feeling differently than you.

Tinks, I know what you mean about holding your breathe. I'll be honest. For the first few days, I fully expected to be banned too simply because my name appeared there. The more the bans continued, the more crazy this whole thing seemed. Like it wasn't someone just having a bad night & banning some without much thought. It takes a lot of thought to ban people day after day for 8 straight days. I decided maybe I didn't want to be a part of a place that could do that day after day. I needed to be away from computer for 2 days & it made me think more. I don't want to feel like I'm being chased out because of something I did in the past, but I'm also not willing to give that up. Also don't see that people should have to. Like I said earlier, the DIS can't be everything for everyone.

I'm sure this is all a ramble & full of spelling mistakes. I don't care.

I'm hoping the bannings are at an end. The way things are going there won't be anyone here at all.

I try to give everyone the benifit of the doubt and a chance to explain things. It is their choice weather or not they do or not. I will listen to any explaination they give, and then make up my mind rather or not they are justified in the way they handled this. Although at the moment without any information to discredit the "rumors" I am finding it very difficult to keep my neutrality.

I think many of us would just be happy with an explanation from the "powers that be". We get a vague post from them, saying that we are only hearing one side of the story, they can't talk, and they will fill us in soon. As another poster stated (I'm sorry, I forget who it was), that is not likely ever to happen. Are we supposed to just drink the Kool-Aid and follow blindly? What are we supposed to believe? 80+ posters are gone with no logical explanation, and we're supposed to just say "Oh, hey, no problem!"??? Perhaps if they gave us a reasonable explanation, there wouldn't be so many upset people here. But they have not done that, and that's what makes me so mad. I feel like we are being talked to as if we are children. Just pat us on the head, tell us it's all going to be OK, and go back to playing nicely. We are not children, and we deserve an explanation.

I stopped reading there because of all the craziness and hostility during the "clover war". I didn't get too involved but it was so hateful that I quit the community in disgust. I'd hate to see that happen here.

I'm also pretty much not a frequent CB poster- I'll likely see you on the Budget Board side of the house.

That's my problem with this whole thing - I don't think anyone's said anything terrible or controversial. If you can't even say how you feel in a civil way, can you actually say anything?
