So what do you all think of this plan??

Right now we only have a 3 day hopper pass and since the Electrical Parade, Fireworks and Fantasmic are only on Sunday when we arrive this is what I have planned:

April 23 - 27
Day 1 – Sunday, Leave AZ and arrive PP Hotel, then head to DCA for Aladdin show, Princess Dinner at 6pm, ride a few rides, watch the Electrical Parade, run over to DL and watch fireworks and if kids are still awake go watch Fantasmic!!

Day 2 – Monday head into DL for EE and then to Mickey’s MM. Then take Disneyland as it comes.

Day 3 – Tuesday, Relax day at the hotel and head to Downtown Disney.

Day 4 – Wednesday go to DCA for the day.

Day 5 – Thursday, Check out of hotel and depending if DH’s sister will be coming to Disneyland for the day may head back to the park for an extra day.

Could you leave AZ the night before and spend the night somewhere halfway on the road? That would give you a little more time on that day in the park. I am cheap so I hate to waste any of my time on my tickets.

Either way, if you spend the first afternoon/evening at DCA you will not need another whole day there. You will be able to spend a few more hours first thing in the morning riding the most popular rides you didnt get in on Day 1 and can spend the afternoon and evening at Disneyland...where you will definitely need more than one day.

ELP, fireworks and F! in one night is going to be difficult. You would need to watch ELP from the spot closest to the gates. Then run across, with the rest of the people trying to do the same. Your spot for the fireworks will not be ideal, and you'll want to get as close to the Frontierland enterance as you can be. Its very hard to move around the hub after fireworks.

I'm not too concerned with trying to get to Fantasmic, I just want the kids to really see the parade and fireworks!! Someone had mentioned to me to cut through the stores to get to the castle faster, does anyone know which store/s?? I'd be coming from DCA into DL. Any ideas??

You can do it on either side of main street. However, if you choose the left side, you have to come out on to the side walk when you get to the Carnation Cafe. Then you can go back in a couple of stores down. The Right side you can cut through all the way, but then you will have to fight crowds at the end if you want to cross the street.

If its really packed you can watch the fireworks from the trainstation. You will miss some of the projections and special effects, but it can be done. You could also catch the train to NOS and watch F!.
