I've just had a look through the Christmas TV guides, and although I'm away I've arranged for some taping to be done. The telly this year looks pretty good, I desperately want to see The Vicar of Dibley, My Family and the Casualty/Holby City 2 parter.

Even the soaps look good with Corries exit of Karen McDonald and Ashley & Claire's wedding while in Eastenders they have their usual doom and gloom around with the death of Paul Truman and Dirty Den evicting Alfie and family -so just a normal everyday EastEnd Christmas then.

So what are you hoping to watch over the festive period ?

i try and avoid regular xmas programming like a plague unless theres something really good on. if an old bond movies on i may watch it, or a simpsons or other comedy i likes xmas special.

otherwise i'll bury myself in my new dvd's hehe

I think as usual the tv looks awful. There's usually around 8-10 of us and we like to make our own entertainment, playing games, charades etc so we don't watch much. Christmas is for families so all sitting watching the "box" seems wrong somehow.

DW brought the Christmas Radio Times home last night and having perused it I thought that the TV over the Christmas period looked absolutely awful :(

I'm hoping that on browsing through it again I might find some highlights to look forward to though.

Otherwise I have threatened to entertain us with a medly of songs on my guitar :teeth:

Whats happened to dinner time Morcambe and Wise on Christmas day?? :earseek: It's as much as a tradition as Turkey and the Christmas tree! :guilty:

What I really miss are the Disneytime programmes. They were the TV highlight of most bank holidays until quite recently.

No particular highlights in the Radio Times this year. Now that films come out on DVD so quickly I've seen all the ones that appeal to me.

Looking forward to Corrie and have ordered The Bourne Supremacy on DVD for DH so will watch that too ... mmm Matt Damon .. he's yummmmmy!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

This years Xmas telly is the most God-awful pile of tripe I have seen in years! If this is the best they can offer us on what is supposed to be the most special day in the Christian calendar then perhaps they should be paying US to watch it! ITV's Xmas Day schedule in particular looks mind-numbingly mundane!! I think

I'm looking forward to watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, Chevy Chase always cracks me up. Hopefully I will get lots of dvds as pressies and won't have to rely on the television!!!!
