So, what are ur major Christmas purchases lol?

I usally rack my brains for my dad as he can buy anything he wants anytime he wants
But I found an item that can convert paper pictures to digital images
So I am taking old pictures of the family, turning them into the images and getting him a digital picture frame.
My oldest DS wants NFL car seat covers. a crockpot and a knife set... My youngest DS just wants cash
My DH @@@@
I have NO idea

What is this picture converter thing, where did you get it? Can you post a link. I would LOVE something like this since most of our kids' pictures are the old fashioned kind :lmao:.

I think I'm going to get my DH an apple iphone, and maybe the boxed set of remastered Beatles CDs. That will pretty much blow through my Christmas budget, but I think he'll be happy! The kids haven't asked for anything big this year - they are still young enough that they are fairly easy to shop for.

DDs' big gift will be a tv and dvd player for the playroom. Hannah will also get Uggs, cowgirl boots, some clothes and a few toys. Emily will get some toys, and I need to think of a couple other bigger things for her.

Angela - Congrats on the fiance and new baby!

DS 14 wants an iTouch, case for it, iTunes gift card, and the new Call of Duty game for xbox360.

DS 9 wants a skateboard, Nerf gun w/ laser, DS game and I think we may get him a new bike.

We get them their most wanted item(within reason) and a couple other things, but we no longer go overboard and buy tons of stuff.

We're not completely certain what we're getting f:

DD14 -- a netbook and maybe a few smaller things like makeup, jewelry and other girly things.

DS18 -- probably some games for the Wii and XBox 360. We're so mad at him. He got a job and has bought himself these systems so close to Christmas, so that doesn't leave us a whole lot of ideas other than games. Maybe get him a new stereo system.

DH -- clothes. That poor man will not buy clothes for himself ever, but he feels so bad because his are crappy. So I'm going to get him some decent clothes. Last year he was thrilled when I got him a nice leather jacket.

Not really sure what we are buying yet. DS11 just lost his Ipod Nano so I think we will get another one. He wants to use his own money to buy one so we will see. He is also want the PSP Go but I think it is not getting great reviews. He just returned his broken PSP and got a check in the mail for a new one (it was under warranty) so we will most likely just use it towards another regular PSP.

Not sure about DS<1. Probably some next stage toys and books.

DH is hard to buy for so we will see.

Maybe I will get some ideas here! That picture converter sounds nice.

There is only one young child in our extended family, she just turned 1 year old :goodvibes The adults don;t exchange gifts, so I'm lucky...I have a small Christmas budget.

this year, we just hope to be able to keep buying our house every month through the winter...

2009 sucketh!

Just bought DD 11 a Dell laptop (Santa) and she wants a LG Xeon phone (us). My DD 8 is getting a Disney Netbook (Santa) already bought. She is also getting a few movies from Santa. We are getting her 2 LIV dolls and some ZhuZhu pets and accessories. I've already bought these also. They are also each getting Justice snuggie blanket things. Some candy in the stocking and I'm done.

Congratualtions on the expectant blessing Angela! :cloud9:

DH and I treated ourselves to an early combo C'mas gift, an HD TV that we're thoroughly enjoying :goodvibes. He's been talking a Blue Ray player, so guess that's the list, unless kids buy first. :thumbsup2

He and the kids like to splurge on things that I really want and won't buy for myself. But don't have many ideas this year, other than good health and happiness, which you can't buy either! ;)

We're blessed with a big family (4 kids, 4 IL's and 13 grands), plus my Mom and few other close family/friends we buy for :goodvibes. Fortunately we're lucky to be able to set aside a saving acct. for holiday/BD gifts, so it doesn't hit so hard at once. Lots of things we'll cut back on daily basis, but having suffered thru many lean C'mas' when kids were little, thus far thankfully C'mas and the spirit of it all is not one of them! Even tho this year it might be more pratical gifts, much of which I've ordered on line, we really enjoy giving, more so than receiving. :flower3:

Wii games at $50 a pop are very expensive but that is what the boys like.

My kids both want new (full-size) Lands End bean bag chairs. I managed to get them with 25% off and free shipping. Those will be from Mom and Dad.

Santa is surprising them with Pogo sticks, which were surprisingly affordable from Amazon.

For those looking for Wii and DS games, Walmart.com currently has some that are 2 for $30 and the shipping is only about $1. They don't have a huge selection at that price, but I was able to find some good ones that DS8 doesn't already have.
