We took DD#1 to the Great Escape (a six flags theme park)to see how she would react to bugs bunny, daffy, tweety, taz, sylvester etc.
I've decided ALL characters with obvious "wigs" won't be visited. The reason I say this is b/c DD not only LOVED the characters ( I didn't think she would like them at all) but she also CONSTANTLY touched their "hair" and "shoes" (and yelled "hair" and "shoes" when touching them...like it's an anatomy lesson!!) and she pulled up on Daffy's head (actually, she was saying....beak!!) AHH!! He grabbed his head but kinda walked away from DD. She was upset b/c she didn't get her hug but she did get one from tweety.
I also took her on several rides and she did awesome (she freaked about a month ago on a train ride).

Anyway, I'm VERY VERY VERY EXCITED for our trip now b/c this is the kid that was soooooo scared of costumed character about a year ago and now she LOVES them. We literally had to pull her off the characters. God help me in 3 weeks!!!

Has anyone else had any similar similar experiences??? Sorry to be so long winded in my post but I'm so excited to go now!!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

"character beheaded by a baby"...now that would be something to put on the shocking thread :)! how old is she? we just took our grand daughter( 1) to the zoo ( her first "outing " of that sort except the fair) and she loved it especially the train and tram. only thing she wasn't "sure" of was the elephant statue she sat on the get a pic. i am hoping to take her some place character related before our wdw trip

Lasst March, my DD finally started to like the characters about three days into the trip, after she met Mary Poppins before dinner at CRT. After that, we had to pry her off them! For each character, I have a picture of her hugging them, and then when we got her to turn around, there is one with her and the character so you can see her face. It was hilarious.

The "shoes" comment makes me smile. On our last trip w/ DS(3 at the time) Friar Tuck was one of the first characters he encountered... he tried lifting his robe to see his shoes, and w/ Robin Hood he was checking out his shoes too. The only picture we could get was of him bending down to hug his leg. After that we were very careful that he wouldn't be lifting any more robes (dresses) so that the characters would be flashing everyone. :rolleyes1
