So we are probably locked out before we even try?

i should know the answer to this but don’t: We are going down to DW July 1. Our 60 day window for booking FP+ s begins I think on 5/2. By then, folks who would be going down a few days before us would be able to book fast passes for Toy Story Land before us. I’d guess that it’s likely that they would have gotten all the passes available. (We are only going for 5 days). I iknow Disney is extending hours but it would seem to me that the probability of securing FPS is low, the closer your arrival time comes to the new attractions’ availability. Am I right?

Excellent question, I’ve always wondered how that works.

My initial thought is that they release the fast passes in waves/groupings so more become available each day for new guests? That’s just my thought, not based on fact

Begin by looking for a FP for a TSL ride for ParkDay#5 and work backwards. Confirm whatever appears - you can always Modify or Cancel later.

the later in your trip you book HS passes, the more availability there should be. Day 4 or 5 are your best bet.

Nope, no extra waves of fastpasses will be released. That is why FoP is so hard to get at even 60 days, needing to wait until 60+4 or so to have your choice of times.

I think if you put DHS at the end of your trip, you will have at least some luck. Also, there will be 3 Toy Story rides (Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Saucers, TSMM), and you can only book one of those. If SDD is fully booked up, you will likely be able to get AS2 or TSMM, then rope drop or SDD during EMH.

Try not to despair about it. If you can't get them on your first try, just keep checking. People cancel and change around FPs all the time, even for the new, hot stuff. Just check back regularly and refresh the page. While it may be difficult, it is certainly possible to get those Fast Passes. Good luck!

It's just a guess, but I don't think toy story will be as difficult as FoP. I'd say as toy story land is debuting, maybe a notch up from seven dwarfs, since there are 3 attractions to spread things out.

Please do not discount any possibility with FP+! It is quite a fickle thing.

There are plenty of people who get FOP FP a few weeks (or even days) before. One time with FP+ we even got a fourth for FEA shortly after it opened. You never know!

Hope you are right!

Just a thought - if you are interested in FoP, you will also want to try for that as a first priority toward end if trip for best possibility. Maybe two of you checking, one on app, one on computer - you could check for last days fir TSL, and other could do maybe Day 3 for AK to start? Also just realized end if your time will be July 4th- 5th so another factor to consider since with crowds, and which park you want to be in on the 4th.
