So upset with southwest!

I was lucky and got Southwest from Flint, Mi, to Tampa, for $102 each way Dec 23rd return Jan 3rd. Never flown Southwest or from Flint. We are 7 hours to Buffalo, or 7 hours to Flint. In March I am flying JetBlue from Buffalo, March 7th return the 15th. For $125 each way!! I lucked out.

Flint is a very small airport. Park in the lot right across the street from the terminal, and they will shuttle you in. Takes about 2 minute to make the drive. Security is a breeze because the airport is so small. There are not a ton of food options though. Have a great trip!!!

Thanks. We fly at 7 am. Non stop. So our plan is to be at the airport for 6. I have been told that is lots of time. We r staying at the country inn and suites birchrun the night before and leaving thete at 5:30 am. Mapquest says 20 mins. Any info on that?

I would probably get to the airport a little more than an hour ahead. But I am always early for everything!

The Country Inn and Suites is right across the road from the Birch Run outlets. I hope you left some time for shopping!

That was what I was hoping. Get there early Sunday to buy a few things for my girls for Xmas with me!! Then fky out early Mon morning. I will be an hou and a half then.

No, there are a limited number of seats available on each flight at a given price. You got your husband the last $X fare which sold out that fare bucket. Your fare was at the next lowest available rate. It's got nothing to do with the computers getting smarter.

While it's financially painful to pay more than one is accustomed for a large-ticket purchase like vacation airfare, it surprises me that so many people seem to begrudge businesses - airlines, in this case - the opportunity to operate profitably.

Thank you for your reply but I don't think I was any way begrudging an industry I pay thousands to every year. It just seemed a little fishy to me when it is about my 50th time purchasing airline tickets and it has never happened before.
