Saturday 22nd December
- lots more photosWe knew this day would be a lot busier, but also a lot longer and more tiring as the Park would be open until 10 pm. We had decided to give the Studios a wide berth today was the day the Tower of Terror was opening and a HUGE crowd was expected. Goofy woke us up and we had our early breakfast as planned and set off for EMH at 8 am. First ride, as always, was Peter Pan and we decided to make it our second ride as well. We followed this with Pinocchio and then Dumbo .....

before heading through the deserted Fantasyland

to Discoveryland for our morning fix of Buzz. Had to do that twice too. Dtr then did Space Mountain while I chicken-exited and then we went down Main Street looking for earmuffs in the Emporium (they no longer do them though). As we came out of there it started to snow down Main Street, the first time we had been around for that. That stuff is amazing! It feels cold and clings then melts, just like the real stuff. We went to Frontierland for dtr to ride BTM. We noticed the Keel Boats were running and, as that was one of the things we had never done, we shot over there to have a ride. A new ride that is a walk-on .lovely! We cut through into Adventureland and dtr went on Indiana Jones. The queue was much longer than on previous days and the chap behind me in the queue lit up a ciggy, which I found a bit irritating as I thought you werent supposed to smoke in the queue. Then I realised that the couple a little bit behind him were smoking, as were the 2 young girls a bit behind them. I guess its not against the rules then. Anyway dtr rode and I exited and then we went to faberoony POTC. We had a little look through Belles Christmas Village (for some atmosphere sucking) and then it was time for our reservation at the Auberge de Cendrillon. This was a fantastic experience I have written it up in full on the AdC thread.

We went back to the Hotel, via the Village where we did a bit of shopping. We both lay down for a while, but while I studied the insides of my eyes, dtr once again watched the mad ten things to know woman. Weird, huh?
On our way back to the Park once more I suggested having a quick look in the Studios to see how busy it was in there. We hadnt been in there at all as yet. It had changed a lot since we were there during Halloween and now looks so much better with the TOT Boulevard in front of you as you go in. We decided to go over and have a look at the TOT entrance. It was only a 30 minute wait so I asked dtr if she wanted to ride, but not surprisingly she wanted to wait until she had someone to go on with. She did want her photo taken - I've put it on the Dis before as it's one of my favourites.

We decided to go over to RnRCoaster and we were half way there when I said It would have been really good to go home and tell Dad and brother that you went on TOT on the very first day it opened. As I said that she turned right round and went back to join the queue! The music they play in the queue is very much mood music in keeping with the 1930s style. I loved the fact that as a non-rider I only left her at the very last moment I got to see all the pre-amble in the library. The corridor where non-riders wait is very eerie and atmospheric with chilling music playing. I almost convinced myself that dtr was going to disappear in the elevator, like on that night long ago in the Hollywood Tower. Fortunately she didnt and we went straight into the TOT shop to buy THINGS. Dtr bought her on-ride photo and I got a pen for me, a t-shirt for her saying I survived the Tower of Terror, a t-shirt for son (all black, with TOT written on it in black sounds strange but it works) and a black polo shirt for husband with a Hollywood Tower Hotel logo on it.
Now we were able to go to RnR Coaster, which had a minimal queue so dtr went on, and then we left to go back to the Park after a couple of photo opportunities on the way out.

It was just time to watch Enchanted Candleabration and sing along to Chante Cest Noel (with the obligatory tears in the eye). The increase in crowd since we watched on Thursday night was very noticeable. We were back on Main Street so we got snowed on again.

We made our way through the crowd to Belles Christmas Village for hot soup and croutons and then went on IASW. Over to Adventureland we trotted for a go on POTC and then up to Indiana for dtr to try riding it at night (she loved it). We spooked ourselves again by going on Phantom Manor. This time as we approached the gate I could see the CM watching us, so we put our heads down and tried to scurry past, but she pulled my Mickey Hat down over my ears. Lastly we decided to sneak into Fantasyland for a couple of rides while everybody else watched Fantillusion. We went on Snow White and it was so quiet she asked us if we wanted to go round again (of course) and then we zipped onto Pinocchio before deciding to leave as it was very nearly 10 oclock. We just had enough energy to prop ourselves on a barstool at the Redwood Lounge and have a hot chocolate before we went back to our lovely room for the last night there.
