Friday 21 December - hope you're in the mood for lots of photos.:)

We had breakfast booked for 7am each day of our visit. When we checked in, the CM had seemed surprised at that, but we didn’t want to miss a minute of EMH. After breakfast we wrapped up warmly and set off in the early morning gloom, through the deserted Village and into the Park. We paused for a couple of photos by that tree and dtr posed next to the soldier by the sleigh.

We went into Fantasyland and onto Peter Pan. I’ve always liked riding this first thing in the morning, back to the times when we had Good Morning Fantasyland breakfasts. I think it’s probably a horrid smug feeling that I am walking onto a ride that hundreds of people will later queue for an hour or so to go on. After this we went onto Pinocchio and Snow White and then went round to rides on Buzz. There were no queues anywhere – we were able to go on Buzz twice, having a space cruiser each, because there was nobody else waiting. Then dtr went on Space Mountain for the first time this visit. We went back down Main Street and joined the queue waiting for Goofy Clause to arrive. Dtr had her photo taken with him in his sleigh and got his autograph too.

Next we went into Salon Mickey, as more than 2 hours had passed since breakfast and we had space for a pastry and hot chocolate each. There were only one other couple in there – do other people feel the need to whisper when in Salon Mickey, or is that just me?

After a while we left and made our way into Frontierland where we went on Phantom Manor and then BTM. It looked great in the frosty morning.

Adventureland was next with rides on Indiana Jones and POTC. Into Fantasyland we found the Storybook boats still not running (the water was frozen) but Casey was going today so we went on that (got to sit in the front carriage too and pretend we were driving (I-think-I-can-I—-think—-I-—can)). We had a nose round Belle’s Village and had a gingerbread or two....

then went on IASW for the first time. Winnie The Pooh and His Friends Too was just starting in the Festival Stage so we went in to watch that. That was good fun and there was enough English for us to follow the (intricate!) storyline (and we’re still singing the clicketty-toi song). From here we went to Pizzeria Belle Notte for a lengthy queue and finally some pasta for lunch. We were once again very pleased at how much we had been able to fit in our morning. It was getting a bit busier now, and we decided to exit the Park, and have a look in the Village shops. We had seen the night before that they were unpleasantly packed when the Park closed so wanted to try them at a less hectic time. Dtr decided she wanted to do some present shopping so we agreed that I would leave her in the Disney Store while I went in all the other shops and then we would meet outside in 45 mins. The thing I am kicking myself about is that I didn’t hand her AP to her – she could have got 20% off her shopping. She looked very pleased with herself when I joined her again and instructed me that I was not to look in the carrier bag she was carrying. :santa: She didn’t notice that I had also acquired a bag that she couldn’t look in. :rotfl:
We were ready for a short break now so walked back to SL and had an hour where we opened up the window and looked at the Lake; took shoes and socks off and wriggled toes; lay back on the bed and watched that daft woman and her “top ten things to know before you go” spiel........in short we RELAXED. Some of my new purchases had a relax on the bed too. ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

We were ready to go back after an hour.....

.....and headed back, and into Frontierland where we had a table booked at The Silver Spur. I really enjoyed my meal (I’ll review it in full on another thread…someday) but don’t understand the thing about bringing a child’s meal before the adult meal is ready. There were only the 2 of us eating and I had not ordered a starter, so I expected both of our main courses to arrive together. Dtr’s meal came a good ten minutes before mine and she had mainly finished it before I started. Not a big deal, I know, but it’s not exactly a shared dining experience. :confused3

Anyway by the time we came out it was dark and we decided to scare ourselves with a ride on Phantom Manor. I always find the queuing area spooky at nighttime and there was hardly anybody else about. I think there were less than 20 of us by the time the stretch room door was closed. I noticed the CM was prowling round the edge of the room as it stretched….and then of course the lights go out. When they came on he was standing right behind me, saying “boo” in my ear. Wow – didn’t realise I could jump that high. :scared1:
After PM we went over to POTC – a walk-on that we were able to go round twice in a boat on our own. After the second ride we decided to buy the on-ride photo so it was gone 7 (Park closing time) when we left Coffre du Capitane and had to make our way through a deserted Adventureland to Agrabah Bazaar to get onto Central Plaza. Fantillusion was still going on, so we slipped behind the crowd and down the Arcade and exited the Park about 15 minutes before the main crowd.

We browsed the Christmas Market where dtr bought a new ‘magic’ scarf and some Christmas cookies then we went back to the Hotel for a drink in the Redwood Bar (dtr had a hot chocolate, but I pushed the boat out with a diet Pepsi!) before heading back to our room and preparing for bed while listening once again to the ‘top ten things you need to know…’ Another packed day, with far more done than we could possibly have hoped for before we left home.

Oooh this hot chocolate sounds lovely, wonder if I could get away with having some in July!!
Once again, a fabulous report and great pictures.
