So the Pope drives by...

:lmao:Matt Lauer was showing off some of the Pope "stuff" on the Today show this morning. Hey, is this a great country or what? You can even make a buck selling Pope bobbleheads!!

I want one!!! When we were in the Vatican in '06, I loved browsing the gift shops for the Ultimate Tacky Pope Souvineer....I said that if they had a bobblehead, I was going to buy it.

And let me just say, what a sweet ride he has. This is no Popemobile of yesteryear. He's got like a little lounge in there. Room for guests, nice comfy chair, a fully stocked bar... Ok, I made that last one up, but you get the idea ;)

Did he have a porta-potty in there?

Did anybody give him the big foam finger?

So why was their a woman in a bikini at the bottom of THIS thread? :rotfl2:

One of the pope's fans was holding up a sign that cracked me up

I know that at the outdoor Mass here in DC EVERYONE has to be there by 8:30am (even though the Mass itself sn't scheduled until 10am). And don't even think of trying to drive to the Nats Stadium. DC is already warning people that towing will be in effect. I think that there are even special passes if folks want to park at RFK.

agnes!

Well, there goes the good ol' Catholic tradition of showing up 30 seconds before Mass starts (not that I've ever been guilty of that, mind you :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 )

If an Illinois corn flake goes for a grand, how much do you think a Lasorda signed Pope would go for on Ebay?

Spitting Bobblehead Pope, Regular Bobblehead Pope, or the real Pope?:rotfl2:

And wouldn't the Pope be better as the Clean-up hitter? He comes in at the last second to "save" the game.:lmao:

Did the Pope wave back too you?

If they're at night, I wonder if some lighters might be whipped out during a power hymnal??

Actually, that was widely done with the old Pope. Don't know about this one.

There's some pretty funny Papal stuff in Catholic countries in Europe -- I remember seeing one of those plastic pencil sharpeners in the shape of a tv with the Pope in two images that switched back and forth as you moved it in your hand. And towels and other super cheap crap. I found it sacriligious, but when all's said and done, he's a man, and there certainly were cheap Jesus things, too.

I miss some of the products associated with Pope John Paul II
My fav-The Popener. Would have been a great gift-how many folks actually have a bottle opener with the Pope's picture on it? :rotfl2:

30 seconds hah, most people at my parish come strolling during the first reading:rotfl:

It's not like there's a Beatitude "Blessed are the punctual..."

No, no, it's blessed are the cheesemakers.

Well I don't think he meant it in a literal sense. He meant all purveyors of agricultural products.
