My redundancy day has finally happened - just got back from my "last" day at work for my company of 15 years. Feeling a bit sad:( , but at least I get to have summer holidays off with DD for the first time ever.

Then we're off to WDW in October, so lots to look forward to :).

I'll probably start looking for something once Katie has returned to school in September, I'll probably be climbing the walls to go back to work theneek:, but in the meantime I want the sunshine back so I can visit the beach hut

DDs at Brownie Camp and DH away on business, so I feel a bottle of wine coming along this evening to chase away the blues . . just to join those few glasses I had at lunchtime;)

Well put your feet up, relax and chill after all that time it's no wonder you'd be feeling a little sad.....but it's gonna be great having the summer with DD and also looking forward to WDW and then no sooner will you be back when it's the run up to Xmas.

Anytime you want to chat you know where I am - I've been off now 10 weeks and I'm still not bored - LOL but must admit I do sometimes miss not talking to people and have been talking to my cuddly Tigger and Manatee quite frequently - I think it's probably time to get a cat!

I'm raising my glasss of red to you.....cheers

Annie, been there, done that. Enjoy yer drink tonight and the Summer to come.

Lookin forward to yer "great big, beautiful, tomorrrer"

Annie,

Hope you don't have too much of a headache this morning;) Glad you have so much to look forward to and don't worry something good will turn up! We just need that sun to get his hat back on.

Sorry to hear about the redundancy - but hope you have a great summer at home with Katie - and good luck for finding a great job when the time comes! You never know - it could be 100 times better than the one you've just finished!!! :D :D :D

Sorry to hear about your redundancy but I'm sure you will really enjoy having time to spend with Katie over the Summer and then your trip to WDW - all the more time to get those plans spot on! :D

BTW, hows the head? ;)

Sorry to hear about your redundancy.

Mine's coming around at the end of November.

Guess what I'm going to use some of my payment for ?

Florida .. here I come !

I've almost never had the redundancy experience before - except from somewhere I had only been working at for three months. I was working part time, they didn't have any space and wanted to employ a full time person; so guess who had to go. However, when I did eventually stay at home - thinking it would drive me mad - I eventually found I loved it. It took about two or three weeks to get used to the change of routine, you know - didn't have to get up with the alarm clock, no rushing out in the morning for a certain time, no rushing home from work to cook dinner etc, etc, etc. I really didn't want to go back - but eventually needs must in my case.

So, give yourself time and I'd be very surprised if you didn't start enjoying yourself in a couple or so weeks time. You'll eventually find things to do that you actually want to do and then wonder how you managed to find time to work. Enjoy yourself. ;)

Thank you all for your support . . . just been to collect Katie from Brownie camp so feeling as though I've really started on my summer break now:)

My head was fine the morning after . . in fact, I was a bit spooked out that night, what with it being the first time in our house on my very own:o I decided I'd let the cats stay in and was really looking forward to a lie in, but Charlie Fat Cat decided to launch himself on top of me like an exocet missile at 6.50am. . . so I was wide awake:rolleyes:

But, no problem, because the sun was shining:sunny: and I was off to the New Forest Show - where I had a great day:cool:

I'm "celebrating" again tomorrow for 'that time of the year', so have been saving my alcohol intake for then . . . well, the two bottles of champagne I got are chilling nicely:p

Thanks again - it's nice to know you're out there listening.

xx
