So tell me about the popcorn.....

Loved the stuff!! Can't wait to get some more on my trip in may. I has got to be way cheaper than at the movies. Went to the show this past week and the small bag they sell has gone up to $6.00...for friggin corn. At least at disney its a snack credit :)

Anybody care to share some pics of what their buckets look like?? I know...I am pathetic but I am sooooo stinking excited for this trip & this site is my only outlet since we are surprising the kids which means we can't talk about it at all in our house! Ugh!!

If you IMAGE google "disney popcorn buckets", you'll find a lot of pictures.

Here's the Halloween bucket I'm determined to hunt down this Sept! :rotfl:

We have 3 buckets from past trips, I'd gladly post a picture if someone could explain to me how to do it. We use our buckets to collect our spare change for the next trip. They sit in the alcove above the fireplace.

DaniB~ those are really cute!! Now I'm even more excited!!!!!

I did google images of disney popcorn buckets & noticed a lot of them seem to have lids & straps on them? Am I looking at the right ones? and then there are pictures of ones that are just open collector buckets like you can sometimes get at movie premiers...... which ones are the ones you get at the parks?

Been to wdw 6 times, and never bought the popcorn, when we go in dec I'll be sure to get a bucket!

The buckets do have lids and handles on them. They have a picture of the characters on the front. The image depends on what time of the year it is. Also the lid and handle colors vary as well. We have a bucket from Christmas and one from Halloween. I have never seen any buckets like what is pictured in the image above.

These are the only type I have seen except with different images on the front as well as different colored lids and handles: Also the look may be different depending on if you get buttered or caramel corn. I know at Christmas time Hollywood Studios had a different bucket for the caramel corn. It was a clear see through bucket. Of course you will pay more for the caramel corn.

I did a check and did come across a snowman Mickey one on ebay. These must be sold in the shops as I have never seen any at the popcorn stands. Unless they just brought them out new in 2010. These are cute but they want 30.00 for one on ebay.

I think Disney brings them out every year. I heard about the Mickey Snowman ones before we went on our trip in September.

And yes, they had them out again in 2010. I actually have one of those now! Someone I know was in Disney over Christmas and said she would bring one back for me. Her husband very kindly found one while they were in the parks and purchased it without popcorn in it for me! :cool1:

Right now I'm using it as our Disney Fund jar. All our spare change & found money goes into it.

It's late now, but I will take a photo of it tomorrow and post it.

Totally 3D shaped. 12" tall (to top of hat) and 7" wide diameter. I love it! :goodvibes

You can see the side is not completely closing correctly at the bottom. Hubby said he can fix that.

The back says "Winter Fun! at Disney Parks" and has mickey balloons flying over the castle - all embossed. Is that the right word? So the print & image are raised from the mould, not flush.

The snowman and ghost mickey containers are only available and the special ticketed events. We were there last year over Halloween and you could not get the ghost unless you went to the Halloween party.

So I assume it would be the same for the snowman.

You don't have to attend a party to get one, I got my Mickey ghost bucket at AK in October. I think they just kept running out at MK, I didn't see very many of them there.

I got the Mickey Snowman container during our xmas trip 2010. The first one I got at AK for my son since he wanted popcorn. The next thing I knew he has thrown it away since he was done. :headache: I was so upset.. I really wanted the snowman mickey. Needless to say, I had to buy another one the next day at Magic Kingdom. Hopefully in October, they will have the Mickey Ghost.

But there is no way I would pay $30 for it on ebay.

We were there for 10 days and evertime I asked at all the parks they told me they were only available at the special ticketed events.

When we go back this year, I will make sure to ask at guest relations if I don't see them.

Thanks for the info

I got the Mickey Snowman last year at Disneyland in Frontierland in front of the Golden Horseshoe the 2nd week of December. I got it empty and they gave me a ticket for a regular popcorn in the regular container on my next visit. I have no idea what I did with the ticket, though. The Mickey Snowman was either $11 or $12, I can't remember.

Thanks for posting the pictures. They are very cute. Do you know how much they were? I know someone posted that at Disneyland they were 11 or 12. I don't know how I missed them if they have been around for awhile. In 2008 we did the Halloween party and I never saw anything like them. 2008and 2009 we went for Christmas and again did not see them anywhere. We did not do the Christmas party though as we were able to see everything during the day leading up to Christmas; so we did not see a point in buying a ticket for the party. I will be sure to check for the Halloween one when we get back in October though.

I agree pp I would not pay 30.00 from ebay either.

Yummm Popcorn! I love the pics, we have a cute one from AK. It makes the perfect bucket for my DD to go strawberry picking because it's just the right size and gas a handle.

Popcorn was the first snack we got at MK and the last snack we got as we left the last night. We ate it everyday. YummmmmmY!

I work at ODF at DHS and we sell both the Ghost and Snowman buckets, no special event needed. The only thing is that, at least at DHS, we only put Caramel Corn in those buckets. They were sold for $12 (double the price of the normal caramel corn buckets!) and they sold out early in the season.

For regular popcorn we have typical buckets that have character designs printed based on the season. We had special halloween ones, still at $4.50.

I'm not a big fan of the popcorn, but I guess making it makes it a bit less tempting =P We do sell A LOT of popcorn though.
