Hi all,

Getting really excited for our upcoming stay at BWV. I'm hoping someone can tell me that me and my kids are going to love the pool there despite thinking clowns are really creepy :P.

Also, are there two quiet pools? I saw on the WDW site they had an additional two "leisure" pools, but I didn't know if there were talking about quiet pools or smaller kiddie pools. We usually spend a lot of time at the quiet pools when we stay so it would be a bonus if BWV has two.

Also, do they offer life vests for kids by the pools?

Thanks for any feedback,
Marina :cutie:

Yes, there are two "quiet" pools @ BOARDWALK. ONe is on the Villa side near the clown pool. The other is more secluded and on the Inn side. No one else can tell you you will love the main pool, especially if you find clowns creepy. I like it, I hope you do too.

We all love the main pool at BW!! We don't find the clown creepy at all...and my dd used to be terrified of clowns. Now, as she comes down the slide, and out of the clown's mouth, she shouts 'clown barf!!!'.
But, there are the other two quiet pools...as noted above, over by Community Hall and on the Inn side...walk over to the Inn side, and down the big outside stairs. The pool is right there, across from the cottages. These quiet pools are both full size pools, but I don't think either of them have lifeguards, and there are no slides. I actually love these pools!

The clown for us was never an issue. My kids did the slide over and over! They actually like that slide better than the one in stormalong bay!! My DH liked the food and bar area too! Have fun!!

"Clown barf"---LOL! It's like that behavior modification technique where they immerse you in the thing you fear to help you overcome the fear--:lmao:

In December we will be staying at the BWV for the first time, too, and since 2 of our DGC will be joining us, the news about the pool is good news--because although we go in December, we still enjoy the pools. At 6 and 11 they are swimming pretty well and really enjoy pool slides. Since they are pretty water safe I still need to be vigilant watching them but I am no longer :scared: the entire time

:thanks: for the info! Really looking forward to our trip!

We just got back from BWV and my kids loved the pool area. My youngest is still a little nervous in the pool and wears and life jacket and there was plenty of life jackets of different sizes by the side of the pool. She even went down the slide with the life jacket on and had a blast. You could hear her go Wee Wee all the way down the slide.

Love the quiet pool by the BWI, but cannot get over the scary clown pool--really creepy as many other posters have said. That said, I still love, love, love the BWI. Have fun--just stay clear of the clown:clown:!

Face your fears and go down the clown slide. It truly is a great slide. We also love the quiet pool on the Inn side. It and the spa are almost personal because we frequently have them all to ourselves.

The main pool has THE BEST slide on WDW property.

We agree!! This is our favorite pool and favorite slide! I love the BWI pools! With the main pool, you can sit by the pool or get a drink or snack at the bar and STILL have your eyes on your children. It's just so well laid out. We also love the quiet pool near the villas!

I despise clowns but when you're actually in the pool having fun he looks happy. And you have a lot of fun in that pool.

We actually felt sorry for the clown, since people are sliding their rears down his tongue all day long. Poor clown.

Are guests allowed to use the spa if they are only getting a spa treatment done?

Sorry, I was referring to the hot tub. There is a steam room and sauna in the gym. I think you can schedule massages and the like. I apologize for any confusion.

No worries, glad to hear they have a hot tub as my DD loves them! :-)

@Sandi--they have a steam room at the health club? Excellent news! My husband loves steam rooms, and they are harder and harder to find. (I think maintenance is a big issue.)

Or can you only use the steam room if you have services at the spa? (Sorry, I'm confused now, lol).

It's the Muscles and Bustles Health Club. I'm pretty sure that there was both a steam room and a sauna. I used the sauna a couple of Christmases ago. I was just there in May and am going back in August, but I rarely use the health club -- except in the winter. My recollection was that there was a price list for massages, etc. behind the attendant table and you had to reserve in advance -- It may be that you reserved there and the service is elsewhere. This is more of a work-out facility than a spa. There is a traditional day spa at SSR and GF; also either Dolphin or Swan (maybe Beach Club?). Guests of the BW can use Muscles and Bustles and, I understand, that others can use the facility for a fee if it's not busy. So BWI and BWV guests can use everything at Muscles and Bustles.

So I am one who was a little freaked out by the clown, but having seen it in person it's not bad at all. Again my opinion. My kids are so excited to try the pool out next week! And hey if you are coming down the slide, you're not gonna see the clown anyway :)

HAHAHAH clown barf, sounds like my DD9 talking!
