A friend that I work with has tennis elbow she has been getting shots but it hasn't worked so I guess surgery is next. I told her I would ask "the dis" if anyone had surgery and what to expect.
TIA

"Tennis Elbow" is often tendonitis and will not always require surgery. She can ask a physical therapist for exercises to do first to see if it can be resolved. Good luck!

Tennis elbow is a repetitive injury, a tendonitis. I have never heard of a surgery for it.

It hurts like hell. I've been suffering with it since May. It's been a little better for the last 6 weeks or so, but now it seems to be flaring up again. It sucks because it is my right arm, and I am right handed. Doing something simple like lifting the kettle to pour a cup of tea is excruciating, yet I can carry bags of groceries, no problem. My issue seems to be the "pinch and lift" movement.

I think it should be called "cell phone" elbow or "keyboard" elbow, since those are the movements that seem to aggravate it the most.
