pricing- I think they are twisting my arm to the dining plan. Or maybe just don't do any character meals at all. Decisions Decisions. We are staying Concierge so I am thinking the basic plan would be plenty but we are a family of 6- and I have those wonder 10 year old adults and the 3 year old child in the mix. So we would be 4 adults and 2 children. (but just $10 for the kids seems pretty good if you do any character meals at all no?)
HELP someone tell me what to do! My head is going to explode.

Well you need to do what's right for you.

We are going during the week after Easter which is now a holiday too, just like Easter Sunday. We personally chose to cancel our buffets as a way of letting Disney know that the Holiday Price Gouging was not OK with us. We could have kept the reservations, but even without them we are still eating well and eating at places that we want to. For us that didn't justify paying the extra for the DDP so the holiday surcharge would be covered.

I also think that if Disney continues to fill tables with the inflated prices, the inflated prices will continue and the time frames that they continue for will get longer and longer. June this year, June and July next year.

Yes I am thinking just no character meals for us after last nights family meeting. So we'll still eat well- probably better- just without the characters.
Thanks for being a voice or reason. I just needed a slap in the face back to reality.

I don't know if I would consider it "price gouging" or supply and demand. It is interesting how OOP patrons are basicly being treated differently then DDP customers. DDP is not increasing their prices, so I am wondering if this is a way to discourage cash customers during these times to allow more DDP patrons.

For the record I am going over Thanksgiving Week and into the next week, I will be making sure my buffet's are scheduled after the "Holiday" period to avoid the price increase. I will be using a DDE card, but will be somewhat disappointed if this is a way to free up space for DDP customers and we are losing out using the DDE.

Please explain what this means.....and how it relates to buffets.
Thanks.

I think you are asking about the surcharges on the buffets and character meals... There is an upcharge on these meals during certain "holiday" time frames (of Disney's choosing) The increase is (if my memory serves me correctly) around $5-$6 per person, per meal, for an adult. If you have the DDP...these surcharges are a moot point.

I was confused since the previous posts made it sound like you had to pay additional $$ during the holiday season if you had DDP.
