So Sad about the Wave!

I have and when it was good, I told y'all it was good and when it wasnt good....I told y'all that too.

I have stated repeatedly that my reviews are my opinions and that everyone should try things for themselves.

If I have developed a certain level of credibility, it's probably because people did try places for themselves and found that we've been in agreement.

The only drawback is that I've seen people question their ADRs because they heard you didn't like it. They made it a "Kevin hated it, therefore we should cancel our ADR" decision. My point is that every restaurant has the love it/hate it syndrome. But you have a large enough audience that it influences people. I know you try to get people to make their own decisions, but a lot of people will ignore that advice.

There are times I've agreed with your reviews and other times I haven't. That's pretty much why I am telling people to stop worrying so much and try it out.

Ok, I'm confused now...should I keep or cancel my Shutters ADR?

We have an ADR for the Wave for December for dinner but are going to cancel it. Too many bad reviews lately in addition to Kevin's. We had been excited to try it since it opened (not dessert so much, but the entrees sounded good and we eat a lot of ogranic/local at home). Sad. :(

ooooooh I soooo miss Concourse now that you're all talking about it!

I will still likely head out to the Wave to witness the culinary atrocities (lol) myself.

Except I will wait until a long trip instead of a short trip just in case it is disappointing....so that I can redeem the Contemporary by heading up to Cali Grill on the next night (just in case!!)

Interesting that Kevin found the Wave quiet. When we were there 2 years ago, it was cacophonous. It was such a big space, that I thought the noise echoed throughout, and I was put off by this. I prefer a more intimate setting, so I decided that I would never go back. My food was decent, although the desserts were horrible, much like Kevin described. They did offer a milkshake, and if you must order dessert and they still have it get that, because it was decent. I did like the wine selection (very important to me), don't know if they still offer such a nice selection of screwcap wines. I definitely will not go back after the review I just heard. There are too many other nicer places to eat at Disney.

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but I took my family and family friends there over 4th of july weekend and they were all impressed(and they are very picky eaters) with things and said they would come back, so I'm a little puzzled that it got a bad review. I'll have to listen when I have time.

Of course I know there is the disclaimer that it is Kevin's opinion/review and everyone has their own opinion. I just had to throw a bit of a positive note for the wave. Hopefully those of you with reservations in the near future won't get too put off by the review if someone reports a relatively recent positive experience.

edit: sorry Kevin! didn't see you had already posted said disclaimer LOL

Listening to Kevin's review all I thought was "say it ain't so!!". I love the Wave and am planning to eat there again in January. Hopefully either his experience was a bad night (multiple times) or they get it fixed. I love their healthy options which is my number one criteria for any restaurant, Disney or not. Luckily I don't get dessert there so that part of the equation is out.
