I helped my aunt cater a wedding tonight and helped her yesterday stuff 250 chicken breasts and make 270 rolls. She also made ham, potatoes, & veggies.
The bride and groom believed head count would be 250 after receiving RSVP cards and maybe 150 people showed up! They could have saved so much money if people would have just replied that they couldn't come. I understand a few not being able to make it but 100? Yikes!
It was a beautiful wedding in autumn colors but holy cow we had a ton of food left over. They paid per head for the venue as well.

Just think of all the stuff the bride & groom could have used that money on too. Stuff they probably needed - never mind wanted.
