So my friend says, "We're going to Club 33, it's like a show or something..."

In 9 days we are heading back to DLR to celebrate our DS turning 7. We have planned to meet up with our good friends who will be in the OC area that same week. Us moms were talking, trying to coordinate our schedules. She says, "We can't meet on the 17th because my sister-in-law's friend is taking us to Club 33. It's like a show or something." After I picked up my jaw off of the floor, I said to her, "Did you say Club 33?" She said "Yes, I think that's what it's called."

I then schooled her nicely on what Club 33 is. I told her how special our one visit was back in 2013 and that she should look forward to and cherish this experience. She honestly had no idea.

At the end of our conversation, I got the feeling that she still didn't get that this was A BIG DEAL!!! I can't blame her as she is not into Disney.

While I'm happy for her, I'm frustrated and jealous that this experience will be lost on her. Here she is getting to experience it without any effort at all on her part, while I have been hoping to get another opportunity to have the privilege of dining there again. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Just thought I'd share among fellow Disney addicts who can commiserate with me.

It's not a big deal to everyone. They're still allowed to go. They don't need to be educated. I don't see what there is to commiserate about there.

I believe the poster would like us to commiserate with her as she wishes she could go, not begrudging her friend in any way. I commiserate with you! It is on my bucket list. I believe that most people that go, it isn't a big deal. Well, it would be for me lol!!!

Exactly!

Hey listen, thanks for understanding. That said, when I win the lottery and become a member, you'll be sure to get an invite from me. :)

I never said she should not be allowed in. She did thank me for all the information I gave her and she decided that she will dress her whole family appropriately, now that she knows that it is not a show like she first thought.

LOL, that would kill me, too! Glad you told her about it if for no other reason that maybe she gets what a big deal it is to some people! :earsgirl: I've never been but had a similar situation (well kinda) when a friend of mine told me she knows someone who had the chance to go as a guest of someone else who turned it down, not knowing what it was. Evidently she thought it was just a pricey restaurant.

Omg I totally get it! Wouldn't it be great to get photos inside instead of just standing by the Club 33 sign in NOS? !!

.....commiserating............ kinda of like here in Oregon...... when I invite folks for a Christmas Crab dinner and they ask if I have tarter sauce and I say no......its Dungness Crab, unlike any other in the world....or like being invited to eat at the Poop Deck at West Point, unlike any other in the world.....commiserating

So I'm getting to go in a couple weeks for lunch. I'm looking for advice on what to wear - especially for my teenaged niece who usually wears a tank top & short shorts in the parks.

Are sleeveless blouses okay?
What about running shoes? (foot problems make other shoes difficult)
Knee length shorts?
Can my hubby & teenaged son wear polo shirts & shorts?

Any & all advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Well, when Whoever and Malcon10t go, they share photos and great details and that it is an honor to go,.....but that's alright, when videos of the new frontierland had been open for an hour, it wasn't a big deal that 19 out 20 folks thought it was not a big deal, i begrudge everyone of them.....AN HOUR FRESH INTO DISNEY HISTORY and you are not stopping, touching, taking photos.....crying at its beauty I was....... Well....I guess we are all charlie buckets....waiting for the golden club 33 ticket

I totally commiserate with you! I know it's not a big deal to everyone, but for those of us who would LOVE to go it is a big deal!
