So my friend says, "We're going to Club 33, it's like a show or something..."

I also commiserate. I would happily sacrifice...well, something big...for the opportunity to visit Club 33.

I realize not everyone is a huge fan of everything I'm a huge fan of, but that is a bit of a gut punch when you think of how many of us are dying to get into that place and can't.

I can understand her viewpoint though, I'm sure if I had some exclusive, hard to get experience with...oh I dunno, car racing, I would have no idea about what was going on.

So I'm getting to go in a couple weeks for lunch. I'm looking for advice on what to wear - especially for my teenaged niece who usually wears a tank top & short shorts in the parks.

Are sleeveless blouses okay?
What about running shoes? (foot problems make other shoes difficult)
Knee length shorts?
Can my hubby & teenaged son wear polo shirts & shorts?

Any & all advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
Has your sponsor given you a dress code to follow?

What one friend says is to dress for lunch at a country club.

Knee length shorts and capris are acceptable for lunch, but not for dinner.

Sleeveless blouses are usually ok. Tank tops are not. Running shoes should be fine.

What many do is pack the outfit they wish to wear, leave it in a locker, and change just before going to the club.

This was my 15 and 12 yo nieces last night for dinner.

Well, when Whoever and Malcon10t go, they share photos and great details and that it is an honor to go,.....but that's alright, when videos of the new frontierland had been open for an hour, it wasn't a big deal that 19 out 20 folks thought it was not a big deal, i begrudge everyone of them.....AN HOUR FRESH INTO DISNEY HISTORY and you are not stopping, touching, taking photos.....crying at its beauty I was....... Well....I guess we are all charlie buckets....waiting for the golden club 33 ticket

Uh...what?

I completely understand. Years ago I was telling a friend about Club 33 and the exclusivity and she suddenly said, "Wait...is that the place with the elevator?" Turns out a guy who was an animator had taken her years prior on a date to impress her. It didn't work as she had no idea what the place was. :rotfl:

Hah, that guy was obviously barking up the wrong tree. I would have been very impressed by that. Second date guaranteed and a kiss on the first, most likely!

Thank you!

We did get the dress code info but it wasn't really clear about the shoes. My sister interpreted it as no sandals at all & I wasn't sure about running shoes.

My niece bought a skirt but they were wondering if it was too short. I think they've done more shopping since, so hopefully she found something acceptable (they are visiting from Italy).

We figured the locker would be a good idea.

If the sandals are of a flip flop style, no. A dress sandal is ok for women. Men are closed toed shoes. Running shoes are usually ok.

yeah i get yea on this. i am a huge parrothead and a former coworker who was in her late 50s once was telling me about her FL vacation she had just returned from. she was casually like yeah we went to a jimmy buffett concert with my husbands friends while there. "i mean they had a limo to take us and got nice seats towards the front but it wasnt really my thing... people were just so loud and dressed all crazy." i was thinking by the seats she had at the venue it was easily $500+ for them to go as a couple plus the money those friends paid for the limo and drinks they served on the way there. i was thinking if its not really a thing for you and your husband maybe you should politely decline next time asking to meet your friends on another day for dinner to catch up.

likewise i have shelled out $250-300 on great seats a few times only to have some people sitting behind me complaining that we were standing and that we were too loud (not even drunk loud, just like clapping and cheering). like if jimmy asks you to stand and hula, you hula ::shrugs shoulders::

Maybe that's the secret - be uninterested and then you'll get to go!?

It's an amazing experience and I was blessed to get invited for drinks once. I soaked up every.single.second!
