Such a different World they are growing up in... makes my heart ache really. I was reminded again while volunteering for High School graduation projects. Todays high school seniors really have 9/11 as history while we remember life "before"
I am sure she is feeling that heartache. Both daughters affected and in different hospitals. So tragic. They are all so strong, they will come out onthe other end of all this fine. Changed, but they will live life to the fullest.
WOW - Nicole's husband Michael(?) has a brother who was also there and he is a high school swim coach I deal with during the season. Such a tough situation. I guess Brian and Michael's Dad....
My heart truly goes out to everyone touched by this.
When we think of our own children and grandchildren being in the wrong place at the wrong time, as those people were, it hits home really fast. Seeing the picture of that smiling little boy pierced my heart. That family has to not only deal with his death, but with the recuperation and the long road ahead physically and mentally for the mother and daughter. And so many towns all over had runners or watchers there who will have stories, as well. This does touch us all not too far from our own homes.
And yes, it is sad that our 'babies' have to know a world with terrorism in it, whether from foreign lands or from here. My faith keeps me afloat, though, as I know this world is not my final home.
Hope Jill and family had a great trip (as good as it could be without Memom) and are safely home. Saw pics on FB and looked like a lot of fun.
I think that because the marathon was such an event where people from all over attend, we are all going to have a connection to someone who was there, or injured. It shows just how small the world really is. No matter what, all our thoughts and prayers are needed to help those in need.

It would be interesting to be able to pinpoint every city represented. You know the map would be covered, bringing it all in some way to all of our backyards.
It's back to work and school for them today. They'll probably be thinking,
"This time yesterday...." a lot today.
I just got all caught up on this report! My next trip to Disney is in June, so I'm hoping your trip report can keep me from going crazy until then.
I've been praying for everyone that has been affected by what happened in Boston. Such a sad day for everyone. My dad had a few friends that were in town for the marathon, luckily none of them were hurt. It just breaks my heart to hear everyone's stories!
So glad to have you join us!

Seeing pictures on trip reports is a big help to me when waiting for the next trip. I also am fond of youtube videos. I love hearing the music and the chatter of people and the sounds of the rides.
We are certainly glad your dad's friends are all okay!
Glad Jill and the family made it back. I hope she writes some sort of report, even if it's a "down and dirty" we all want to know how it went....
She said it was so much
not a normal Disney trip. They girls enjoyed the pool, she said, and Coronado is a beautiful place. She liked the room. She didn't like the atmosphere and the more businesslike attitudes of the castmembers in comparison to what we are used to. Of course, there was the MIL factor. She said overall this was not a good vacation choice for either of the in-laws. She felt like the FIL wanted to relax away from his job, which is understandable, and they seemed tired being on the go so much. She will have much more to say later, I'm sure. Overall, though, I didn't get too many messages that seemed traumatic, so she got through it okay.

I agree!!

HUgs and prayers to all those affected by the terrible tragedy in Boston!!! What is wrong with people these days!!
There are people with hatred in their hearts, and who even knows where that began? There are people with mental illnesses who fight intense battles daily, and I have much compassion for them. I pray they all can be helped to overcome the struggles they have inside that make them do these things.
Have a good day, friends! Let's go out and do something extra nice for someone today in our own walks, and with that, spread good feelings around to help offset some of the bad things we are feeling right now. I think I will stop and get breakfast for my second-grade team. Just a little something, but it will start their day off with a smile. We can all do little things, and they will add up to a happier today for this world.
