So Much To Celebrate - LIFE and Sophie Kate!

I am not properly caught up yet but I just have to say that those girls at CRT are just so absolutely precious! Made my day! :goodvibes

Where/what is this??

I am loving your MK updates. I can't wait to finally be back there!

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for the thoughts, prayers, well-wishes for Boston and everyone in it, it means so much that so many of you took the time to respond to me :grouphug:

Pat, I read about those three women when I was on break, they are also in my thoughts and prayers.

MeMom, I have pictures of Barbara from this past trip! I watched the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade more times than I care to remember, and I saw her a few times. She is amazing!

Love the MK pics this morning. I am with Anita & will take a pineapple swirl. Might have one in about 3 weeks.:goodvibes

:grouphug: to all affected by the events in Boston on Monday. Prayers are being sent.

My hearts go out to everyone hurt in Boston. We too had injuries. One of our contract personal trainers was cheering her mom on and was seriously injured. If anyone has seen the picture of a woman just sitting by the curb in shock... that is her.

Here is an article some-from-charlotte-are-among

We were getting some news in most of the morning. While she already had multiple surgeries already, Her sister was critically injured.

So horrible.

So true. I remember 9-11 and having to explain it to my kids when they asked why.

Pat, it is a small world. I just discovered today that I know her father-in-law. He is one of my patients and he is pretty torn up. He is leaving for Boston in the am. My prayers go out to all of them. So sad.

So sorry to hear about your friend Pat. I hope all goes well.
I agree with you Jill about normal life is not as crazy as we think. After having to explain things like this week to my children, I will take fighting over legos any day.

::yes:: Makes the mundane things more appreciated.

They were certainly enjoying see the pretty ladies in their beautiful dresses - and getting all their books signed.

It's just a random cabinet in the exit area of the fairies.

Jill was in Magic Kingdom this morning, but she is back to reality now.

I watched the national anthem video. That was a 'wow' moment.

Barbara can 'tear it up', can't she??? ;)

Three weeks is a nice short wait. :thumbsup2 Jill said it was already hot there, so it might be just the right thing to cool you off.

Sad for the whole family. There will be so many tender, touching stories throughout the months ahead.

Thoughts and prayers with you too, Pat.

The boys were in school for 9/11 and it had to be dealt with at some level for them there ...there were kids in their school whose parents were pilots out of NYC and some who worked in lower manhattan. Justin was in lock- down on 12/14 because we are so close to sandy hook and in the beginning no one really knew what was going on. Then yesterday, Justin was on a bus to Newtown to play a tennis match when he heard. He never really talks about any of this... usually in round about ways. Our kids really have had so much to deal with :(

Wishing you all better days, my friends.

Such a different World they are growing up in... makes my heart ache really. I was reminded again while volunteering for High School graduation projects. Todays high school seniors really have 9/11 as history while we remember life "before"

It is so sad that this special event and this time of celebration for so many turned out so tragically. The story about the mom whose daughters had come to cheer her on made me tear up. Mom was feeling guilty about it, and that is right where I know I would be. I would be so concerned for my kids, and I would be beating myself up for them having been there. Don't you know the mental anguish she is feeling? Many, many thoughts and prayers for all involved and for the children that will be raised in a world that has this kind of pain and fear in it.

I am sure she is feeling that heartache. Both daughters affected and in different hospitals. So tragic. They are all so strong, they will come out onthe other end of all this fine. Changed, but they will live life to the fullest.

WOW - Nicole's husband Michael(?) has a brother who was also there and he is a high school swim coach I deal with during the season. Such a tough situation. I guess Brian and Michael's Dad....

My heart truly goes out to everyone touched by this.

Hope Jill and family had a great trip (as good as it could be without Memom) and are safely home. Saw pics on FB and looked like a lot of fun.

I think that because the marathon was such an event where people from all over attend, we are all going to have a connection to someone who was there, or injured. It shows just how small the world really is. No matter what, all our thoughts and prayers are needed to help those in need.

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

I just got all caught up on this report! My next trip to Disney is in June, so I'm hoping your trip report can keep me from going crazy until then.
I've been praying for everyone that has been affected by what happened in Boston. Such a sad day for everyone. My dad had a few friends that were in town for the marathon, luckily none of them were hurt. It just breaks my heart to hear everyone's stories!

Glad Jill and the family made it back. I hope she writes some sort of report, even if it's a "down and dirty" we all want to know how it went....

:thumbsup2 I agree!!

:grouphug:HUgs and prayers to all those affected by the terrible tragedy in Boston!!! What is wrong with people these days!!

When we think of our own children and grandchildren being in the wrong place at the wrong time, as those people were, it hits home really fast. Seeing the picture of that smiling little boy pierced my heart. That family has to not only deal with his death, but with the recuperation and the long road ahead physically and mentally for the mother and daughter. And so many towns all over had runners or watchers there who will have stories, as well. This does touch us all not too far from our own homes.

And yes, it is sad that our 'babies' have to know a world with terrorism in it, whether from foreign lands or from here. My faith keeps me afloat, though, as I know this world is not my final home. :)

It would be interesting to be able to pinpoint every city represented. You know the map would be covered, bringing it all in some way to all of our backyards.

It's back to work and school for them today. They'll probably be thinking, "This time yesterday...." a lot today.

So glad to have you join us! :cool1: Seeing pictures on trip reports is a big help to me when waiting for the next trip. I also am fond of youtube videos. I love hearing the music and the chatter of people and the sounds of the rides. ::yes::

We are certainly glad your dad's friends are all okay! :)

She said it was so much not a normal Disney trip. They girls enjoyed the pool, she said, and Coronado is a beautiful place. She liked the room. She didn't like the atmosphere and the more businesslike attitudes of the castmembers in comparison to what we are used to. Of course, there was the MIL factor. She said overall this was not a good vacation choice for either of the in-laws. She felt like the FIL wanted to relax away from his job, which is understandable, and they seemed tired being on the go so much. She will have much more to say later, I'm sure. Overall, though, I didn't get too many messages that seemed traumatic, so she got through it okay.

:thumbsup2 I agree!!

:grouphug:HUgs and prayers to all those affected by the terrible tragedy in Boston!!! What is wrong with people these days!!

There are people with hatred in their hearts, and who even knows where that began? There are people with mental illnesses who fight intense battles daily, and I have much compassion for them. I pray they all can be helped to overcome the struggles they have inside that make them do these things.

Have a good day, friends! Let's go out and do something extra nice for someone today in our own walks, and with that, spread good feelings around to help offset some of the bad things we are feeling right now. I think I will stop and get breakfast for my second-grade team. Just a little something, but it will start their day off with a smile. We can all do little things, and they will add up to a happier today for this world.

Whew! All caught up...finally!!

First, I was so saddened to read about everyone who was affected by the tragedy in Boston. :grouphug: to all!!

Memom, these updates were full of great tips for my upcoming trip!! We are staying at POP for the first time and I am glad to know about the bugs :crazy2: I HATE bugs!!! I will probably take something to shield me every time I attempt the crossing of the bridge ;)

As for Barbara...I want to meet her!!! I am determined to in June!

You pictures of CBR have also confirmed my desire to eat there for a quick lunch or something. Their food court looks adorable!

I was enjoying reading about Jill's trip, but I have been away from your TR for the duration so I was bummed to hear that they already had to leave!! At least she knew leaving that she would be back soon!! :cool1:

Have a wonderful day today and remember...TOMORROW IS FRIDAY! :yay::yay::yay:

Such sad news this week. :sad1: My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who have been affected by the bombing in Boston and the explosion in Texas.

Yes, Pat. He does have two sons. I see his wife and him. Such great people. I hope everything goes well with the whole situation.

Megablocks, I just wanted to let you know my thoughts are with you, and your city.

Pat, I was in absolute shock as I read the story of your connection and heartbroken for the family, tough days ahead for all as they move towards recovery.

MeMom, you are so very right, we can all do little nice things to help add up to a happier day. Thank you for that reminder

Love the Merida pics but sorry Jill's trip was "not" normal. I can't imagine it would be, lots of different dynamics than usual but still some fun times it looks like, at least on FB.

I am going to book the Hoop –dee-du-revue and the luau next time.
Nice little walk through MK. I will have a dole whip with rum. LOL
Loved the pics.
All caught up again.

Well said, Memom. Hope your day is wonderful:)

It was okay. One day closer to the weekend. :thumbsup2 I am glad I got the breakfast for my team, not only because they enjoyed it, but because I later found out that there will be several changes in our group next year. One is changing to Special Ed, and one or two more may be getting moved to another grade level. Not their choice. :( It was nice to have coincidentally treated them on a day that held some not so good news for them.

The only time the bugs were bad was during that early morning I went over to AoA, and someone else said they weren't a problem for them, so maybe you won't have issues. It could have been the time of year or any number of factors. Most likely, you won't be going on the bridge that early anyway.

Barbara enjoys talking to people. Hope you get to meet her!

The CBR food court is so nicely themed. We like being able to get the vegetables and cornbread in the mix with our many burgers, nuggets, and more fast food type stuff during a trip.

Tomorrow is Friday! :cool1: I did remember! :thumbsup2

Such sad news this week. :sad1: My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who have been affected by the bombing in Boston and the explosion in Texas.

There are many people sitting in hospital rooms tonight who thought they'd be having an enjoyable celebration weekend. I hope they are getting positive news as their families and friends are attended to.

It's nice to have happy things in our lives - including our Disney friends and fun - to keep us going through the tough times.

That will be fun to do those two special events. I want to get the girls to the luau, for sure. They'd love it. It's expensive, though!

After flying over Agrabah, we were in the mood for a cruise...

and who wouldn't feel welcomed by one that has a spider welcoming you aboard.

Jungle Cruise is a classic. Plenty of corny jokes that we all love, of course. A little added humor from the guide's personality. A few smiles when you hear the laughter or groaning from newbies as they hear the aforementioned corny jokes. And there is plenty of room for a large group of DIS friends to share this ride. :thumbsup2
