I bought direct this month (1st time buyer) and am trying to keep the purchase a surprise from my DH until Christmas. They marked our membership "do not call - it's a surprise" but they keep sending me so much mail! When does it end?

I managed to confiscate the FedEX delivery of the contract and the welcome package with the tote bag, some general friendly correspondence from my guide, the returned signed documents, a couple of vague advertisement materials (not really worried about that - he won't think anything of it).
The last thing I got was a little box and it had some magnets and a cute little personalized ownership certificate, etc. He brought it in and set it on the counter. I tried to play it cool with "oh yeah, I did a phone tour for a gift card. Now they're gonna send me a bunch of junk. It's probably a DVD or something." He started to open it and I'm like "Oh! wait! unless it's something for (DD) that I ordered!" and I ripped it out of his hands. He looked kind of shocked but just walked away.

Anyway, I can't have any more of that!!! If anyone who purchased direct recently (but maybe 2-3 months ago) can give me a heads up as to how much more mail I'm likely to get, I'd love to know! I could call and have my mailing address changed to my work for now, but I don't really like everyone there knowing about everything I buy either. Employees do often have stuff sent to the office around the holidays, though. So, it would be allowed.

Ugh.

That should be about it. From now on all you will receive is some sales info when new resorts open, a quarterly magazine and a yearly dues bill.

You can set your preferences via the member website.

I purchased around the same time. The last thing I got was after the white box was a copy of the contact counter signed by Disney and a payment for the dues.

I believe those are the last thing I have received.

Maybe you have a guide that is trying to make it extra special for you? After getting the contract signed I've never gotten anything else that wasn't the member magazine or a flyer to buy more at xxx resort. An ownership certificate? Box, magnets? It's like they know you want nothing so they're sending you everything they can find!

Potrock seems to big in marketing, my guess is that he has put together a better welcome package compared to years past.

I haven't gotten anything about my dues yet. My guide actually told me I can set up my payments online but that option hasn't "opened" for me yet. I think it's because they haven't charged my last payment yet. I asked to have it put on my next credit card billing cycle to stretch out the 0% financing a bit. I'll keep checking. Maybe if I get them paid / set up online fast enough they won't mail anything.

Thanks all!

The funny thing is that I'd probably be really excited about the mail if I wasn't trying to hide it. It's like I got my points so fast, but I can't really do anything with them until my 11 month mark. So, I check the RAT every morning just to see what availability is really like all around and to entertain myself. I really should be reading up on all the fastpass crap that I barely had a handle on last trip and has changed some since. Ugh. I don't wanna.

Dues take a few weeks after your sale has closed to be published to your account. Then you can pay online or monthly.
