Okay - for those who remember me; we decided after our AWESOME trip in August last year to leave DLP behind and save for Florida in 2015.

Well; we are still saving for Florida in 2015/16 but are now thinking about going back in Feb; so some advice... would you/wouldn't you?

We have the chance of getting hold of some travel vouchers at a lot less than the value - which would either pay for 4 nights (2 free) in the Sequoia Lodge (Golden Forest Floor) plus half board plan and Auberge or 4 nights in the DLH (no extras).

Would you do SL or DLH? Remembering that it is Feb and last time we were there it was -13! (And that I really want to stay at the DLH - but money is tight as we are hopefully moving soon)

Would you go at all? It is going to wipe out alot of our Florida savings; but come Feb - Rosebug is going to need something to look forward to (if you remember she had bowel problems etc? Found out today that she has an underactive thyroid which is the cause - so the next few months are going to be tough with blood tests and getting meds sorted) and DH is desperate to take her back for her birthday.

I have been saving so hard I have come to hate spending money...but this is tempting!

ohh I said the same too at the start of this year, I booked florida for oct 2014, then I went and booked 2 trips to dlp for this oct and april 2014, and now im meant to be getting married in 2014 too? how the heck am I gonna afford all this??? haha but Disney has to come first sometimes haha i don't know how often we will get to go once im married so might aswell make the most of my single days haha

Hey Rosebug  missed you around the boards. Delighted you now have a definitive answer as to where your little ladys health problems stem from and at least now you can work to make it all better for her

Lots to debate on your two choices but...

Ooooh DLH.. that is all ;)::yes:::thumbsup2

It just ticks all the boxes > close for nipping back to if the weather isn't great (we had -14 in January at DLP but ya know we didn't find it too bad :confused3 and I whinge if my toes get cold on a normal night here!), also idea if Rosebug needs a rest or a nap or isn't feeling too well, and its the perfect setting for her birthday.

if you can I'd hold out for Florida. I've done California, Florida and Paris. As much as I like Paris there's no contest. I'd rather Have the extra £600/£700 for Florida and extend the holiday or upgrade the room with it. we're visiting Paris at the moment because my son is only 2 but he'll only have next years trip before I start saving like a woman possessed for Florida.

Nice to see you on here again :wave2:

Ditto

As for whether to go to DLP or not ..... do you really think you'll get an unbiased answer to that question on this board? :rotfl:

Seriously though, if I were you I'd be taking that little break next February. It'll give you all something to look forward to and if it means that your Florida trip has to be put back by a year does it really matter?

As to where to stay? Well, I'm a great believer in that everyone should get the chance to stay at the Disneyland Hotel at least once in their life, that's all I'm saying on the subject! ;)

Thanks guys!

Well - we were just about to book and the person selling the voucher changed their mind. :-(

DH says to book anyway - and to book DLH. We will just scrimp and pay for it; god knows by Feb we'll probably need it.

In a way I am relieved that finally they have found the root of her problems; but just devastated that it is a life long thing that will have to be carefully managed, we find out next week which of the 3 types she has and then find out more. The doc has said the next few months will be tough as she has to have fortnightly bloods and while they find the right level of meds for her she is going to have ups and downs. Hopefully though; there has been no other complications other than her bowels and height; and these could right themselves once the meds kick in. It is devastating as a parent finding out your child has "something"; but I keep telling myself it could be a whole load worse (although I wish it was also a whole load better; obviously!)

How cold was it this Feb in DLP? Still hoping our trip last year was an extreme!

Rose!!!!!!!!! Missed u! But good news that they now have found sum thing which can b managed..... Yes it will b hard, but its good that she is young enuf at it will 'grow' with her which is a help (a friend has just found similar with her 9yr daughter)

It is hard getting any diagnosis.... But it is a very easily managed thing compare to 'other' things.... And hopefully this will sort out all her bowel probs, which that alone will make rosebud feel soon much better!!!

As for Trip..... Do u need to ask??? Def dlh!!!! And when in feb r u going as we will b there in feb too!!! Hopefully not too cold, but am already looking for thermals lol xx

Hi Rosebug :)
Have you booked yet ?. How old is DD now ? Glad you have got a answer to her problem hard being a parent and finding out something is wrong with your child.I took the twins to WDW this February for there 5th birthday it is an amazing place but not somewhere I will be rushing back to maybe when their 10ish they didn't take the time diff well at all, both ways.we had a few toilet accidents something they hadn't done for years to much time sleeping when we should of been in the parks.I was so looking forward to the magic kingdom and falling in love with disney again like I did the first time we went to DLP, but I really don't like the magic kingdom it not built well or thought out well like DLP.
So for us while the boys are still young and they still want to meet Mickey Mouse it will be DLP for a while they don't care if he is in Paris or Florida it Mickey Mouse !!.
So are you doing the DLH ? Are you flying from Newcastle ?
It's a shame easyjet stopped the flights isn't it.
We always use Eurostar now cheaper and easier for us, booking our next lot on Thursday for our march trip.
Looking forward to hearing your plans :)
