I am putting together Nov 2014 trip and am planning to stay onsite Dis for the first time due to deals. This is really messing up Universal trips as I can't find a way to get there that isn't going to a) take forever and be a massive pain or b) work out at £400 per visit!
Can anyone please advice in the most cost effective way to visit, is stating onsite worth the extra money and is it likely to cost the earth or can we get there day by day without it taking 2 hours or costing $80 daily!! There will be 2 adults plus kids 8 and 4

Thanks ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

You should be able to rent a car I would think for under $100 a day. It would probably be the easiest and quickest way, unless you don't drive.

Driving is fine but after $500 for tickets it's going to make it an expensive 2/3 days if it costs another $100 per day to get there? Then there is the $16 parking too!

You can get universal tickets that include transport from Disney property. Sorry I don't have a link for them but I know that they are available.

I suggest you look into one or possibly two nights staying onsite. On the surface, it may look crazy expensive. (well-it IS crazy expensive)-but for us the perks justify the $.
A one night stay at Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, etc. will get you TWO days worth of Express Pass privileges for all of you party, at no extra charge. This will allow you to cut your ride wait time on almost all rides by approx. 50-60-80%. You can leave your resort room and be in the park in just a few minutes. Also, depending on your dates, the rates may be discounted somewhat.
The adjoining City Walk area offers a few more affordable eating options.

Don't hesitate to ask for advice on the Disboards...tons of good helpful folk on here.
