I am planning a trip in Sept, and WOW! So many negative Nellie's out there....
Just sayin'!
Disneyland is my home park, been going since 1976, and it beats a work day anyday....
I am Not a Local, lol. I live 500 miles and some change, north in Reno!

Carry on....
Have a Magical Day!

I actually don't think it's too bad. You should check out the WDW forums. ;)

Look out, 500 miles, years of experience and frequent visits could mean you have less right to be there than the guests who will pay more. Heaven forbid you enjoy yourself while causing crowds and lines for others. Are you an AP too? Uh oh...

Holy cow, yes!!! :crazy2: I love WDW, but I won't visit the Dis forum for those parks. It moves way too fast, and before you know it, you've been crucified for saying you like Frozen or you hate their version of Mexican food. I love these boards on the DL side, but I have to travel to a distant community of tomorrow to stay safe for WDW.

As for the negative reviews, there's always a few going around. And it's hard for me to bash complaining about Grad Nights...yikes!

I would say, there seem to have been an increase in the number of "negative" threads" recently.

I think the uptick in attendance due to confluence of the 60th events/parades/fireworks, the Matterhorn changes, Hatbox, GradNights and Memorial Day weekend all happening at about the same time seems to have brought out the uglier side of some people inside the Happiest Place on Earth.

I was just surprised to see, 3 in a row.... Forcing kids to have fun.
Grad Night Nightmare, and Disneyland NEEDS work.............. lots to swallow my first day back.

I tend to think it's just the ebb and flow of any public discussion boards. Sometimes negative threads will dominate, but then more positive threads will appear. Other times it's mainly questions and trip planning threads. It's just the flow of the board. Don't get hung up on the negatives...skip those threads and focus on the ones that sound fun/good to you!

I will say that if you had come back before the 60th kicked off, I think you would have seen/felt things were different. Folks were all excited about the new entertainment and elements being added to the parks. There was a lot of positive anticipation about what was coming up. Now that those events have debuted and the 60th has started (for better or for worse), there isn't as much things to be excited about, so the focus has shifted away from what is coming to what has happened. Just give it a bit of time and things will shift back to excited anticipation about summer, Halloween, and the Holidays.

One thing I'll say is that as a solo traveler if I'm waiting in line for 40 minutes or saving a spot for a show it's pretty easy to get caught up in annoying things that other people are doing. Like the family behind me in line a few weeks ago with 2 kids fighting and I got bumped several times. I'm not going to get distracted by the theming, I know it pretty well. But it didn't take away my enjoyment of the ride, which was a positive experience. When I'm with my friends I might not have noticed as much, or maybe we would have switched positions and they would have absorbed some of the bumps for me.

Thanks Figment, I tend to avoid the negative threads anyway, because I Love DLR, and I know it like the back of my hand... but had some time today, so I read some or part of these threads...
I am Excited for the changes, and looking forward to the new things!

I thought there were more negative posts during the off season when so many of the rides were down for refurb.
