Thank you for post those. Now matter how many times I see them, they still take my breath away and remind me to say a prayer.

*sighs* Remember them yes, but stop harping on it. I've heard so much about it that it no longer has much impact on me except to make me tired of seeing yet another post on it, yet another tv show about it, yet another newspaper reporting on it, politicians using it to forward or detract from their own agenda's and worse.

It's time to let the dead rest. It's time to say goodbye and go on with your life.

I can understand how some may be at this point for now. It
hasn't hit me that way yet and probably never will. All the sadness IS hard to relive. We are going to see and hear about 9/11 just like we do D day, Pearl Harbor, Paul Revere's ride. I don't mean to trivialize but this will always be an enormously reverent day in our country's history. For now, thousands of people are still reeling from the loss of their loved ones and friends. I think as we approach September 11th, these posts
are appropriate and necessary as our citizens continue to heal.

The families of those who lost their lives on that day, whether they were inside the towers, the pentagon, on the airplane, a police officer, fireman, or even just someone who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, should ALWAYS know that we WILL NEVER FORGET!! How would you feel if you lost your spouse and when that day approached, nothing was ever mentioned to you.........no one remembered, stores started holding mega sales "in honor of"???:earseek: That would be ultimate slap in the face.

To all those watching us from the heavens above, we will remember always.

Please do not dishonor those souls and turn this thread is anything but what it was intended to be............a tribute, a memorial.

I repsectfully disagree.

Thank you, Dan, for that amazing photo and this thread. I will never ever forget.

God bless our country and all our people all over the world.

I agree that politics shouldnt use it for their own agendas. But we are still healing and those whose lives were touched personally by it are still mourning and forever will be. Dan, thanks for helping us remember that day in such a nice way.

This is the saddest post I've read in a long time. I'm sorry that the tragic events of 9/11 no longer have an impact on you.

Thank you, Dan, for posting the photos. 9/11 Does still have an affect on me. Every time I hear about it, every time I read a post about it, every time I watch a television show about it, every time another newspaper reports on it, and, yes, every time a politician brings it up I am reminded to say a prayer for those who died and especially for their families that they might one day find peace.

I hope the tragedy of 9/11 is something I will NEVER be allowed to forget.

And asking for blessing of YOUR country and YOUR people all over the world exclusively is exactly YOUR problem:rolleyes:

This must be one world sooner or later, or WE all won't get OUR -and this includes YOU as well- problems solved. Before YOU don't realize this, YOU will be part of the problem - and not of the solution.

And please show me just WHERE this is done?

I don't think I have ever heard ANYONE on these boards (or anywhere else) ask for God's blessings EXCLUSIVELY for AMerica or Americans.

That is your inappropriate & fallacious interpretations.

Our PROBLEM is the reticence of other countries to hold the appropriate forces accountable for the evil they do.

9/11 was not the fault of America. Neither was the Khobar Towers, the USS Cole, The 1993 WTC bombing, the Bali nightclub bombing, the recent tragedy in Russia, etc., etc., ad nauseum.

But it's easier to SAY it is (which you repeatedly imply) than it is to confront the problem. It's easier to engage in illegal business in contravention of imposed sanctions (which your fine country & France did with Iraq & Saddam Hussein) than it is to confront the problem.

And frankly, your Euro-Centric arrogance is getting to be quite a bore......................

It's certainly appropriate most especially to remember this in September. This was a tragedy that happened during our lifetime which makes it even more so. We still remember others from the past on Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and other special days. My son's school is actually closed September 11 this year. One of my high school classmates lost her brother in the WTC that day. You can bet she and her family don't forget.

**The 11th is Saturday. It must be Friday they are off in honor of the day.

Oh please.

You don't know me or what I think or how I pray. If you do a search you will see that I always pray for peace around the world. I want peace for everyone, not just Americans.

Why oh why must these threads always go down hill? :(

It deeply saddens me to know that there are people out there who ALWAYS want to turn a post into a debate!

Dan posted this as a memorial to 9-11! I know that this saddens Dan also to know that someone has to turn this memorial into a debate. This is why our country along with others have so many problems. Some people cant see things as they were meant by others, they have to make an issue!!!!!!

I must also add that totally miss the DEBATE BOARD, as those who want to continually start something have come to our quiet, peaceful, friendly Community Board to start trouble.

I may get flamed for this post, but I am tired of all the disagreement, negativity and fighting in this ENTIRE world!!!!!:(

Wow, was that really uncalled for or what?

Nice way to turn a thoughtful thread into something ugly.

Dan, thanks for the reminder and the photos. I surprisingly havent' seen either of them before. While I was waiting for the one of the fireman to load, I was thinking how detailed the angel was....The the flag appeared in his hands, and I just about fell apart.

It was a sad moment in our history that should never be forgotten.

Thanks Dan.
For some of us it is not that easy to move on. When I look at my friend's 4 year old son who will grow up without his father it is a constant reminder.
