We just booked our first trip to DL using DVC points at the GCH concierge for Sept. but I am having the hardest time finding answers for DVC questions, so I am turning to the experts, the dis!

1. How much is parking for concierge guests? Is there a difference for DVC members?

2. Does anyone have pictures or links to pic's of GC concierge rooms? We loved the size of the WDW DVC 1 bdrms, but we know that they won't be the same. We would just like to know what to expect.

3. Is there a refridgerator in the room? If so is it just for the mini bar stuff or can we use it for our own stuff?

If I forgot anything that you think I should know please feel free to clue me in. I am just having the hardest time finding info on DL and DVC. Thanks so much in advance for any information you can give.

I don't believe you get charged the parking fee when on DVC points and we've always been able to get an empty refrig when we've stayed. Have a great trip.

Self parking is free, but there is a charge for valet parking. The rooms are the same size on the concierge level as the rest of the hotel, (unless you specifically booked a suite). There are empty fridges in the room. The days of the stocked mini fridge that charges you when you move an item are over at the GCH.

The concierge floor has a separate lounge with food offerings during most of the day. There is breakfast time with fruits and cereal and pastries and 'tea time' with fruits and small sandwhiches (including pb&j) and wine and cheese time around 7 pm, and then milk and cookies with story time. There are sodas and water and milk available for you most of the time. I'm sure the offerings change occassionally.

Enjoy your trip!

Happy to hear about the parking, but mostly the mini bar situation. When I read that you could get charged just for moving something, I thought about bringing a cooler up to my room rather than get charged $10 for a soda!

We live in SanDiego so we always bring a cooler with us with things like Milk, bead, peanut butter and Jelly and some lunchmeats, cerials and things like that. Double check to be sure that it is still okay to bring in a cooler....we have never been turned away yet and alot of people bring them. We will not use our pts there only because we live so close and want to use them for WDW and Cruises. So we look to save as mush as possible and also go there all the time.

Have a great time and let use know how it all worked out for you...We usually stay at the Disney Hotel because we like DTD, and also has the Moneral right next to the hotel, but GCH lets you out right into the park also has a cleaner pool!!

We also go through Expedia and wait till last minute to get our Hotel rooms because the price drops drastically like from 300+ to 130 a night...but my dh is self imployed so no problem to say" hay lets go to DL for a few days"

Okay so I am just rambelling on..:goodvibes have a great time...and by the way..Sept is one of our hotest month and dry so be sure to bring chapstick!!!;)

DH and I lived in San Diego for about 8 years, so we are pretty familiar with the weather in S.Cal. But we havn't been back since we moved to Oregon 6 years ago. We are driving down so we can stop at every In & Out Burger along the way:laughing: ! (plus it's cheaper than flying and then renting a car) We can't wait to see DL, I have never been and DH hasn't been in about 10 years, so we know alot has changed since he was last there. I am so excited!:yay:

We stayed at GCH in August - brought a cooler for breakfast and snack stuff, beverages and a case of water into the room - no problem!

ericamanda01: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: for In-n-Out Burger! We love to drive down and stop at them, too!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

On the topic of coolers, on our driving trips, we take along a "Cool-mate" which is a plug-in cooler. That is, it keeps cool by plugging it into a 110V outlet. My van has a 110V outlet so I can keep perishables fresh along the trip. Once I get to my destination, I plug it into the hotel outlet. I keep the Cool-mate running 100% of the time for the entire week without any breakdowns or other problems with the hotel. However, this is not a mini-frig since it keeps food cool not cold, but it works great for the foods we take with us such as milk, sandwiches, cookies, cakes, etc.

Thanks for the tip! DH and I were looking at using our current cooler, but it's just a regular cooler and it's a bit large. I will look for one of these! I know it's over 8 months away, but I am already getting excited!

For the cool-mate look to Costco for one, maybe a few weeks before they get them in but then again Christmas is over and spring/summer is up.

As to In n Out I had been out of Calif for 5 years until last October. I hit them up 7 times in 5 days:love:
