We are arriving Sept 6th. I was hoping to see this show but a CM told me the last night is Monday Sept 5. Any news on why? I wonder if River of Lights is set to go.

September 5th is the last date for now but it could be extended. The singers and musicians are signed until November.

they could extend it but my personal thought is that they won't because perhaps they need to do some physical work in the area for ROL to be set to open.
my sister saw a rumor the other day that they will no longer be open late after that until ROL is ready.

I'm at AK right now and they are testing the RoL floats. I asked but of course no one knows anything :)
I haven't been keeping up with the whole RoL thing so I don't know if they've been testing the floats regularly or not
Per that thread sounds like they just started up testing again very recently...

Our trip starts 9/27 so I am anxious to see if there will be any night time activities still going on at AK. I do have a park hopping park plan if not :flower1:

I have a late Tiffins ADR on the 7th for 6.They will be doing something.
What time is late? I know the park is showing to be open till 8 on the 6th. At HS we ate at 50's PT with a 7:25 ressie and a 7:30 park close. I was just wondering if your ressie is later than 8pm.

I don't think they will go back to closing at 5:00 PM, but I do think the 8:00 PM closing times that are listed after Labor Day are going to be as late as it gets until ROL gets it's crap together.

That is just sad....why all this on going talk about night time entertainment then close at 8. ??????

Also, keep in mind that the last Equity audition for Jungle Book had no height/physical requirements, just mostly "men" and "women." When RoL originally cast for dancers, there were pretty strict HEIGHT requirements for the dancers.

So the real sign of impending RoL will be Equity auditions for RoL performers. You can't just slide the JB dancers in, most likely, because those casting calls didn't include height. And the human choreography wasn't the issue with RoL.

I mean, 8:00 in the fall and winter doesn't seem that bad to me. It gets dark earlier so you will get to experience Animal Kingdom in the dark. Even Magic Kingdom closes at 9:00 (and sometimes earlier) in the fall and winter.
I looked and found sunset is around 7:30. Have FP for safari I want to use at 7:30 not a lot of dark time

The park is currently scheduled to close at 6:00 PM when we're there on Monday, December 12. If ROL happens to be up and going and they bump the closing time to 8:00 PM, in which we currently have an ADR at Tiffin at 5:55, what time do you think the last show will start with an 8:00 closing? If we have a FP or Dinner Package, how long in advance do we have to line up for it? And do you think we have enough time built in, so we won't have to inhale our food and run?

they'd probably have one show at 7pm and one show at 8pm.

i've never done a dinner package before so not sure how that would work but i would assume that with an ADR at 5:55pm they'd sign you up for the later showing knowing that you generally need 70-90 minutes at a TS restaurant.

and if you were getting a FP+ i'd definitely get one for the later showing.

if its going to be anything like F! they'll probably let people in well before the show starts so you'll want to be in line early.
