So I've Pre-Purchased Memory Maker - Now What?

I received my MM card in the mail. What do I do next? Do I have to activate the card before my trip or will the first PP photographer I see do that for me when I get there? And do I need to keep the card after it's ready or will the Magic Band handle everything from that point on?

Did you purchase through MDE? Can you see it on your MDE account? If so, you should be all set and no activation is needed. If not, you should be able to link it to MDE using the number on the MM card. Then you will just scan the MagicBand at rides and with the photographers.

Yes I did purchase thru MDE and I can see it with the confirmation number.

As long as it shows as linked to your reservation on MDE, you won't need the MM card, just have the PP people scan your band after taking the photos. We didn't even receive a card after we purchased MM pre-trip. It was handy not to have to drag out a card, get new cards, keep track of cards this trip...LOVED it!

We had MM for our recent trip... Here are a few tips:

1. Make sure all the people on your trip are linked on MDE (you have to do this anyways to make FP+ reservations for all members, so not a big problem)
2. Make sure all the adults change their settings on each of their Family and Friends indicating that their pictures can be shared - Click the box under each friend or family that says:
Share PhotoPass Photos
This friend can view and purchase my PhotoPass photos.
3. As long as you are linked, all members of the party's ride photos will be automatically captured and stored (only the person who holds the MM entitlement will be able to see the ride pictures when you go to view them, but they will be there, trust me!)
4. Pictures "expire" 45 days from when they were taken. Once you start downloading photos you have 30 days to continue downloading. You can download them as many times as you want in that time period.
5. Even if you download just one picture it comes as a ZIP file and includes the a copy of the release.

We just downloaded 641 photos from our last trip. Hopes this helps you...

No problem... Oh, and once the MM is activated, which it should already be since you bought it through MDE, just use your Magic Band.

Another thanks for tip #2. I've just clicked the box under my husband's name so that he can share PhotoPass photos, since I hold the MM.

Regarding #2 - My sis, bro in law, niece and nephews are all linked to my MDE (listed in friends and family). My sis and BIL do not have MDE so they can't change their settings. Since they are linked to my account will I be able to see the pics if their bands are scanned?

I'm not sure if this is true for other parks, but at Magic Kingdom all the ride photos were added to our magic bands during the ride, we didn't have to stop after I think it was June 1st. I was leery but they were on our MM.

Thank you for this tip, My DW and DD don't have their own MDE account, I've created them under mine, so I assume (dangerous to do, I know!) that we'll all share the photos mostly because they are all under the same MDE account. Anyone have any experience with this?

And yes, all photos from all of the parks will automatically show up in the account but ONLY if you have MM attached. If you are sharing MM with a group of people, the ONLY account that you will be able to see ride photos in is the one that has the MM attached to it. However, you will still be able to see everyone's ride photos, not just those of the people who actually have the MM.
