So is the corn knee high in your area?

One of my friends one time (you know its gonna be a good post when I start talking about those crazy people lol) did that. and he was in a car full of people and they were all mooing at some cows. well it made the bull mad and it chased that car the lenght of the field. they were on an old country road,so they were having to go slow enough so that that cow could actually keep up.

why am I friends with these people? ;)
Because they do crazy things like driving slow so an angry bull can keep up with them? :cool1:

Just stopped by to say hello  to all the corn cool people here... and pickle cool people, too. Now I've GOT to get back to work! :rolleyes1

Ok, I cannot in good faith bypass a thread that is talking about corn when I am a true blue Iowan.

Yes, our corn is way over knee high. If it wasn't, the farmers would be in a panic.

Yes, I moo at cows and I talk to them too. My husband has classified me insane.

Yes, I have been cow tipping. I was always really drunk, so I was a drunk cow tipper.

Some of you might be confused between sweet corn, that you eat and field corn. Lots of sweet corn isn't knee high yet.

And honestly, I've never seen the corn as green and pretty as it is.

Now, you all stop being so corny or I will have to stalk you. ;) It is my understanding (from others, not me) that clique threads are a waste of space. But maybe corn and cows excuse this thread? :rotfl:

OK THAT is what I need to hear.
We leave in 10 days for our family reunion in Iowa and ALWAYS have grilled pork chops and grilled corn on the menu!!!
Also, I am ready for cooler weather there too.

ah nothing beats an Iowa pork chop, sweet corn and Muscatine watermelon...you have that too, don't you? What part of Iowa do you go? After this weekend you won't convince me it's cooler here then Texas! ;)

Sorry everyone, this was way off topic from corn or cows. But I did mention corn once. :cheer2:

Since we seem to have a few experts on this thread now, let me ask -- at what point should the corn be as high as an elephant's eye? (scientifically speaking, that is.)

Nope, no corn growing here this time of year. JUst wait until winter though and we will have lots of great corn.

Why, you're my sweet little "Candy Corn"!!! :teeth:

Well, I need another name...I don't like Candy Corn. I mean it's a real sweet name and all--SWEET-- :teeth: but I really don't like candy corn. It might have to do, though, because everyone knows how sweet and unsnarky I am. :smooth:

Maybe we can just call me Candy. :lmao:

Have you gotten any work done?

I'm silver queen corn. Makes the best creamed corn.

What are a Corn Queen's official duties?

To cream those that don't agree with her. To make a meal out of those who talk back. To mush those that speak against her. And don't forget to stalk the one that she has a thing for.

yeah, what she said and dont ya forget it.

The phrase alone took me HOME
(well, not to my home, but to my parents' home - Southern Illinois).

Unfortunately, we don't have much corn around here.

So, I think it is at least knee high at "home", and I sadly report to you that the watermelons are NOT doing well this year with our near drought!
