Gee, that was quick. Seems like things are back to the status quo already.

Anyone starting to get the points they wanted via the DVC waiting list?

Don't know if ROFR-mania is over but ROFR-nervousness is certainly not for DH and me. We're still waiting to hear about ROFR on a VWL contract, September UY. Beca is supposedly #1 on Disney's waitlist for points with a September use year so until I get the word that we've passed ROFR, I'm still a bit anxious!!

Still waiting on a BWV at 73.

No mania here....but we're still waiting. I've just resigned myself that if we don't pass, then we'll try for another contract more aggressively. If that one doesn't work out....we'll see from there :). It's nerve wracking, but still exciting :Pinkbounc .

I wasn't aware of any "mania" either. It seems that many people who are in the midst of a resale are still concerned about the possibility of ROFR with the price increase and apparent resurgence of Disney exercising its ROFR. I don't see that that has changed, since this has only come about in the last week or so and the ROFR period is 30 days and some of the contracts have just been submitted.

I just found out that I got my points from the DVC wait list. Of course, I put myself on the list thinking it would be awhile, and it came through in days!!! Now, I have to decide to pass on DVC's points or pull out of my resale contract. See my post above!!!

Sure seemed to be near-mania last week with reports of 3 or 4 contracts were grabbed by DVC. At least one of these ROFR calls wasn't entirely surprising since, if I recall correctly, it involved BWV at $72 with the SELLER paying closing costs.

Within the last 48 hours I've seen at least 4 posts indicating people are passing ROFR at fairly "standard" price points:

BWV $72
BWV $73
VWL $74
BCV $72

If the word "mania" offends you, then please disregard it. To others, I was simply wondering if you're feeling a bit more secure about your resales now that we've seen multiple reports of success with no additional contracts being grabbed.

I think some of us missed any frenzy last week and also missed "multiple reports of success with no additional contracts being grabbed" that would seem to indicate a return to the "status quo". Enough exercising of ROFR to make people nervous, but definitely no real pattern or base price on ROFR established as far as I can see.

jel0511 -- cancel the resale contract and go with the resale through DVC! :D

I think we on the boards are a little ahead of the curve, when it comes to DVC info.

DVC has not made a formal announcement of the price increase or the new waitlist for add-ons. It's true, but how many of the 80,000 members actually know?

The guides just found out the middle of last week. These contracts that are passing, the decisions were probably made on them prior to the increase. Also how many have actually added themselves to the waitlist with a Credit Card since last thursday? Probably not many with the exception of us dissers.

It will take some time for DVC to actually implement this policy and inform it's members although the increase is effective immediately.

They have hundreds of contracts to review right now and not enough members on the waitlist so they are letting them go. Once the word is out, this will change.

Like the others, I'm thrilled that I was able to add-on at BWV for $84 and SSR for $79 in the nick of time. !

As one of those whom ROFR passed over like that thick green cloud in the Ten Commandments (I must have had the mark on my door), I certainly do hope it's over.

I agree, it was a harry time here last week with all of us going through it, waiting for news. But now I'm totally thrilled that it passed us by - and kept on a-goin'. :)

I'm thrilled with my $72 BCV purchase - and I know that number may not be available sometime in the near future for other potential DVC'ers!

(BTW, GREAT sig, TJ!)

Sherri :)

I just found out today that I passed ROFR at 73 per point for a 150 point contract with 110 current points, I payed closing costs & MF's.

The worry that was/is coming is the fact that most of us at 72-74 thought it to be slam dunks that our contracts would pass, and that only contracts in the high 60's had some reason to worry.

Then right in the middle of waiting, we find out that resale through disney goes up $5.00, and that some contracts at 70-72 are now being gobbled up. Thus a process that has some worry already just adds even more.

SoCalCDG....Congrats!!! Where were your points again? I cannot remember!!

jel0511...congrats on getting your points, too!!! Good luck in whatever you decide!

No word yet for me!!!

We got zapped on ROFR for VWL. 73.41/point seller paid closing and MF's were paid. 48 banked points on a 150 point contract. It happened last Wed but I was away for work so had no way to get on here to post it. I just got home yesterday and got the message from the wife.

So sorry to hear that your VWL contract did not pass ROFR. I know Beca is on Disney's wait list for a VWL add-on but, to my knowledge, she hasn't indicated that she's heard from Disney. DiznyFan, what was the use year on your VWL contract??

DIZNYFAN - I am also sorry that you didn't pass!!! I hope that you find another contract that suits you very soon!!

RuthnPaul...yes, you are right...I have heard NOTHING here!! I will let you know asap when I do.

Beca, all I can say is that if we don't get the contract, I hope that some of those points make it to you! Can't ya just feel the love again??

Yes...I do feel the love!!! But, gosh...I hope if DVC tries to exercise ROFR that you fight for that contract....PLEASE try to counter...I really don't want your points!!! If it was my contract, I would do EVERYTHING in my power to try to keep that (including stopping the contract now, and re-writing it for a few dollars more per point...if you cannot back out, I KNOW the seller can, and probably would if you said, "Hey, I want to pay you more money!!") You got a really great contract...I would certainly fight for it!!!

Wishing you all the best!!!

Just so you know when I talked to my guide she told me that they now have a good number of VWL points and are concentrating more on BWV and BCV so hopefully that helps your contract out some.

SoCalCDG....Congrats!!! Where were your points again? I cannot remember!!

It was at BWV. I paid 73 per point for a 150 point contract with 110 current points, I payed closing costs & MF's. I've had a smile on my face all day.:teeth: Not getting as much work done as I'd like today because of these boards. Tomorrow will be a bear.

Sorry to hear that. I'd wager it was the fact that the seller was paying the closing. This was very similar to my contract, except I payed the closing costs, thus my contract was costing $3 per point more.

Are you going to try again at VWL? or go through Disney?
