So indecisive - Park Vue or Candy Cane Inn?

I am waffling between the two places - the cost is essentially the same for the deluxe room at Candy Cane vs one Queen with bunk bed at Park Vue for 4 nights in October.

We are a party of 4 - me, my Mum, Aunt and DD 14. Sharing beds is generally not a problem (we are small people all under 5'4), though my DD thrashes about a bit:p. We tend to spend very little time at the hotel, though we may do a dip in the pool/hot tub weather depending. We are driving down from Sacramento so the free parking is a plus.

Both places have free breakfast, free parking, free wifi. Both are in walking distance. We do not need a microwave and eat a light breakfast so we can save room for Disney yums.

Please share your preferences and TIA!

Park Vue is directly across the street. You cannot get any closer. All you have to do is go across the crosswalk at the stoplight in Front of the Hotel. We stayed there a couple of months ago and enjoyed making waffles for breakfast. CCI is about a 5 minute walk down street. We have never stayed there but everything I've heard about the place has been positive. But between the two places, I would stay at the Park Vue because it is so close. I liked being able to go back during the middle of the day for a little while without having to walk much. And at the end of the day when your feet are tired, nothing beats the proximity of the Park Vue. But the Candy Cane Inn is also a nice place so you can't go wrong either way. Enjoy your trip.

We like the Candy Cane Inn. Not only is it close walking distance but there is also a free shuttle (nice on those busy days when your feet are tired.....don't have to walk!). Yes, free parking, breakfast, etc and most importantly the management is excellent. Any issues, no matter how small, are dealt with immediately. Very well run and friendly staff. Grounds are nice, too. (They offer discounts AAA and more and when you come back there is a discount as well).

Another enthusiastic vote for the CCI! Agree that the management is excellent. So in addition to all the nice perks, one can rest easy knowing that any problems that may arise will be dealt with quickly and professionally. The walk isn't far, the shuttle runs on time and the drivers are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, etc. Also, CCI offers discounts (e.g. returning guests, AAA, AP, etc.).

Although Park Vue is closer, I would choose Candy Cane Inn with all other factors being equal.

Another vote for Candy Cane. PVI might be closer, but service is better at Candy Cane.

I recently was trying to decide between both these properties and was leaning towards PVI due to the closeness to the parks. In the end, after combing over Trip Advisor reviews for both, I decided to go with CCI. There were too many mentions of cockroaches for PVI.Although there were many reports of clean, bug free rooms also I just couldn't get past this.

Another for CCI! We have stayed here many times. Everything about it is wonderful!

We had reservations once at PVI and ended up cancelling them. While many people have good stays there, it does seem that if there is a problem the the management at PVI is not at all good about resolving the issues for the guest. I have heard great things about CCI and their management.

My parents and I went to Disneyland for the first time last month and stayed at the Candy Cane Inn. I also really recommend this hotel! In addition to what everyone else mentioned, the hotel was very quiet. I hardly heard the other guests or any road noise. I think it was at capacity, but it never seemed crowded. Free water and coffee in the lobby was nice after the walk back from the park in the evenings. The walk might be just a little longer than Park Vue, but Candy Cane is situated away from the crowds entering the park, which was a bonus.

We just got home from a stay at PVI and we loved it, the breakfast was awesome and always stocked, our room was VERY clean and had been recently remodeled my kids loved the pool and the hot tub and honestly at the end of the day or even coming back for afternoon breaks if we would have had to walk any further my kids would have died lol...the only interaction I had with the front staff was we needed to leave a day earlier and the checking account I used to book the room I no longer had and no longer had the debit card with it the lady didn't know how to go about refunding my money but said i could check back later and she would have an answer, we went to the parks came back and she had my answer and had even left a msg on the room phone to let me know she had an answer. We also went to the Cold Stone Creamery one night it was AWESOME!! The young lady that made our ice creams would scoop them out put them on a spatula and throw the ice cream in the air and catch it and they sing songs when you leave a tip. We never saw any signs of any bugs the whole stay and we were there for a week.

I did the same thing! They were not pleasant at all when I cancelled, either.
