So, I stopped by Downtown Disney recently

I had taken my daughter with me to Miami for the Orange Bowl and on the way back, we stopped by Downtown Disney and it was still all decorated for Christmas.

I think I'll have to make plans to stay around Christmas time this year.

What are the must-sees/must-dos?

Some things to do around Christmas are the sled ride at Fort Wilderness, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (evening event at Magic Kindom that requires separate admission tickets), seeing the presentations of Christmas around the world at Epcot, and the Candlelight Processional at Epcot.

Aside from that, just enjoying the way all the parks are decorated for Christmas, hearing the Christmas carols playing everywhere you go, and looking at the huge Christmas trees at each park are all fun.

Resort hopping for an afternoon, especially to the deluxes, is a must.

Go the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Decorations are up but not as crowded. You will enjoy it so much more without the large crowds.

I went this past December and I think I am going to have to make it a yearly thing.

As far as things to do, I LOVED Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.. esp. as it got later.. it seemed like we had the park to ourselves. I also really enjoyed "Holiday Wishes." The castle looked amazing lit with snowflakes.

I also really enjoyed the parks playing the Holiday music.

What is the sleigh ride at Wilderness? I have never heard about it. That is where I plan on staying next Christmas...please fill me in!

I agree with the resort hopping. It's really fun to see all the different huge trees in the resort lobbies.

I've heard Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is cool too, but I haven't been. Have fun planning your trip!

I read the Holiday Sleigh Rides are $35 per carriage including the tax for a 30 minute ride. Max party size is either 4 adults, or 3 adults and 2 children.

Deluxe resort hopping is a must; CR, GF, Poly, BWV, BCV and AKL(not certain on that one) all have gingerbread displays. The YC has a large train/snow village display.

Several of the gingerbread displays have Hidden Mickeys to find in them. Definitely a fun way to spend some park downtime.

We've gone the first and second weeks of December for the past two years. We love it at that time. MVMCP is great (except this year we had torrential rain and that was NOT fun!).

You cann't go wrong staying at this time.

If I went it would be the week my daughter is out of school...a week before Christmas.
