So....I need to fire my Travel Agent/Old Thread...New Update

I did hear from the Attorney General's office this morning and they're processing my complaint. Waa haa haa. He's going dooooooooooown.

I hope so. Imagine what he has done to unsuspecting customers? Higher flight prices? Bad connections?

Keep us posted and if you do a TR link it here.

Have a terrrific trip!!!!:cheer2:

You would think that now the anxiety of assuring you are secured on the ship is over that one could ignore this thread, but no way! I'm still hooked!

Tom, great to know the California AG is taking your complaint seriously. I also give you a :thumbsup2 for your email to DCL Customer Service.

You WILL make a difference!!

Well to put it mildly ~ Un-flipin' believable!! :scared1: Glad things worked out so far with your money finally getting credited to DCL.

Hopefully something will be done about this guy but dollars to donuts he pops up somewhere else with a new company and same old habits. :guilty:

I am so glad that you finally got everything taken care of. I was afraid to use a TA myself after reading your story but thru my questions to the wind and used one. I am not so sure if I did the right thing. I used one that sponsors something we all love with Disney and it hasn't been smooth sailing for us either. In fact I am going to talk directly to Disney now because of the way the agent assigned to us worded one of her last emails. I know it is our honeymoon and not hers that we are going on but darnit we are booking a big trip and I guess I expect it all to be done perfectly. I have had to call Disney more than once because she didn't even put our correct birthdays in the system so we couldn't access anything online. The wonderful lady on the phone at Disney Cruise line could not believe what she had screwed up and fixed it all for us. Ok enough of my saga....I know mine is so small compared to yours but you can bet I will use Disney online and thru the phone from now on.

:bride

Tom, I just got back in town (hate being off the boards for 5 days - gotta get a laptop!) and read about your good news. I can only imagine how relieved you must be. Now no more worries about what to tell your 4 year old. I am so happy for your family. :goodvibes

Enjoy the heck out of your trip - you deserve it.

I, too, am looking forward to your TR! :thumbsup2

Quick update:

I received written confirmation of my complaint from the Attorney General's office yesterday. A copy will go to the TA also. :)

I never did hear back from the local ABC station.

Another curious thing, I'm not sure if it means anything or not, but the TA's website has been down since yesterday. Hmmmm.

I wonder what the AG's office will do. While I hope there is something they can do, I wonder if there won't be anything to file charges on since they did end up paying off DCL...ie they didn't abscond your $ and you are getting to go on your cruise.

Don't your cruise docs still have to go through them?

Right, but the mere fact of holding the money (if they used it to pay for other things) may be illegal.

Yeah, I sure hope so. I know there are some businesses in my state that are required to use a separate trust account for their client's $. That $ cannot be touched by the business for any reason other than its intended purpose. So, that would be cool if they did an audit and found not only your transactions but others used to pay off their own debts or for their own gain...put them right out of business and maybe even into jail.

We had a big title company here a couple years ago get into BIG trouble. They were taking people's title insurance $ for closings and then NOT buying the title insurance. It was a major scam. There were at least $5-6 million dollars of missing $. When state/fed gov't went in to audit, everything just closed down. The underwriters for the company were trying to pick up some of the claims even though they never rec'd the premiums. There were construction companies left in the lurch because the title company was holding their construction $ and there wasn't anything left for their draws. The Dept of Insurance is still investigating. Luckily, we didn't use that title company but lots and lots of people did. What a huge mess!
Glad to hear that you got to make your ressies. One question thou, will DCL be sending you your docs or will they send them to that TA.:scared1:
I hope DCL is sending them directly to you. If not, it's just going to give your TA another chance to mess with you.
Good Luck.

I'm anticipating them holding on to the documents as long as they can just to spite me.

But according to what people our telling me (on this thread and elsewhere) all of the documents are available to print out on the internet anyway. The only thing we would be missing are the luggage tags.

I don't think I'm incorrect in saying this, however, I recall that their website did have the "Authorized Disney Vacation Planner" banner when I first started reading this thread. However, I don't see it anywhere tonight. :confused3

Yep. Their website was down all day yesterday. Today, if you click DCL on the bottom it will quote rates. But if you click Disney Destinations (toward the top center), then try to click DCL (or DL or WDW) you get an error message. That is the screen that used to say Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. Curious.

Hmmmmm.....curious indeed!!!! :goodvibes

Maybe that's one for Tom, zero for Cruise Adventures! :teacher: :thumbsup2
