I would think so!
It's a thin silver lining but at least it's one less thing to stress about in this ordeal.

Tom, I have been keeping track of your situation. I know your close to the cut off. I believe I saw a post a while back that said the check was in the mail. So I guess the question is.... has it arrived; are you paid off? I am hoping that you get some Pixie Dust sent your way. pixiedust:
 
No news. The cruises have still not been paid off. I'm working on a final demand letter right now (shhh...don't tell my boss).

Have you thought about asking the TA to pay you interest on your money that they are holding? This all just sucks raw eggs. Tom I am holding a positive thought for you. Lois

I know you said DCL won't cancel on you, but really, what is this TA waiting for?

If DCL is not going to cancel your ressie on their end, and with the notes on their end, it sounds like they wouldn't cancel you on the TAs say-so...if this guy hasn't paid your cruise off, are you comfortable going to the media now?
 
i am amaxed at how many of you internet savvy guys still use Travel Agents! We book direct with DCL, have made several room changes, all of which was accomodated without fuss online. The customer service team are fantastic. The prices are the same...somethime less (out of interest we had a quote for our upcoming cruise from DU and it was cheaper to do it direct- much cheaper than the room credit offered!)...so why involve 3rd parties?:confused3

I expect all heck to break loose this afternoon. I intend to send him a final demand giving him until noon today to straighten this out. I'm also attaching a letter to sign that would release the reservations back to DCL.

I don't expect this to work, but it'll be fun to see what his reaction is.

I sure wish I had know about and been spending time on DIS before I booked this cruise. I never would have been in this situation.
 
Can you hire an attorney to sue the TA if the cruise is not paid off by the cut off? I think you would have enough documentation that you have done everything within your power. Now I really do not believe in sueing just for the fun of it but if this TA is playing these games with you; I am sure you are not the only ones and they have no business being able to continue in business. I do not know how you are staying so calm. If it was me I would be physically sick. My vacation isn't till 9/20/08 and my TA has already paid off my trip. We are all with you until we see your final trip report

This is a really good point. Most likely there are others who are going thru the same thing with this guy. Just a shame. Sure sounds like he is rotating the funds from clients and it has caught up to him and now he can not pay your trip and goodness knows how many others.

Well you are not the norm -- I have booked three cruises through DU and priced out 2 others and every single time the price was almost identical the difference being the onboard credit received from Dreams -- making them cheaper every single time. And I am sure this goes with most on this board as you said we are internet savvy and can figure out what is the absolute best deal to get.

If you got a quote from Dreams off by that much -- there is a good chance you weren't comparing apples to apples -- like they forgot to drop Insurance, transfers or something.

With all the DCL notes - I'm sure everything from their end will be just fine - but this screws you up severly from an activity/spa/Palo booking standpoint - hopefully DCL will be able to make some magic happen there. :wizard:

At this point - I'd be all about revenge! :mad:
